This may sound a little stupid but I for one am glad that nothing can be done for the next two years. We may not even get to the state championship this year but if we do I want to play the best team out there.whether it be public or private.I,m sure collinwood feels the same way.I do feel like we need a multiplier in the future to create a fair playing field .I also think that the location most of the private schools are from is their biggest advantage. The zone we draw from is about 4000 in population. We are about as different daylight and dark as the private schools or for that matter any school in or near large cities. Our little spanking from Ezell has really helped us.Our bunch has worked harder than ever before. We don't like spankings.

pujo...it`s not stupid, but it is very ironic. Especially after all of your comments on here. But hey, maybe now you`ll understand why some people don`t want there to be a split. It`s not that privates are afraid to compete against only privates, but if they win, they want to be able to say they are the best of the best.

  • 2 weeks later...

What fun is it to compete against only 7 other schools for a state title? or 6 other schools for a title...Or have to drive cross country and play someone you wouldn't see in the playoffs till the semi finals? Or play 2 games against the Super 7? A season in the life of D2-AA, and D2-AAA members...

If they do change it, I would want it in this order...

VG's plan, Split, ELA's plan (I like ELA's because it would really mean something to go to the playoffs, but I am not in favor of mathematic equations in order to settle things, as I said before teams would run up the score.)

Multiplier is not on the list for those who don't seem to find it.

    • Eagleville also loses Brown the catcher, Lamb CF, Mclemore RF (Heck of an athlete) and Drew the 1st baseman. They will be young.
    • Good thing we aren’t in Florida then huh? It would benefit a ton of the smaller schools  that don’t have the pools of kids to choose from! They should start by policing Shelby County like they do the rest of the state! Something has to change though and TSSAA knows that!
    • Correct, you can whimsically be fired in coaching. A coach that has tenure can stay on as a teacher if released from coaching. If you don’t have tenure as a teacher, you can fired without cause. Your last year as a teacher before tenure is earned you can be fired, but must be given cause. A tenured teacher can be fired, but it is a long hard process requiring the 3 D’s…. documentation, documentation and documentation. I have released 3 tenured teachers, 2 with PHD’s. However, teacher contracts had and still have clauses that state you can be fired for a variety reasons re: being arrested, public drunkenness, inappropriate relationships ect.
    • Hopefully you’re not signing off for good. There are a lot of Oak Ridge fans that appreciate your comments.
    • Florida tried urban/rural split two years ago. 4 urban classes, 4 rural classes. Didn’t work. Next year they will have 7 regular classes, 1 urban class for small schools only.
