Disciple
The pick 6's I've seen occured when the receiver either was not looking to get the ball, or turned in the wrong direction in anticipation and telegraphed the play. Again, the QB does not call the play, nor does he catch the ball. He runs what is called and hopes it's the right call and all involved execute correctly. Are you kiddn me? Are you saying that the skill of the QB has nothing to do with it. It is all about the coaches. I have never seen a coach run on to the field to complete a pass or dodge a defender or pick up a block. So are you saying that if a play doesnt work it is the coaches fault for making a bad call? Iknow alot of coaches who call plays hoping their kids will fumble the snap or throw an interception or drop a pass.
HitorBeHit
This thread was supposed to be about the Indy running game in 2008. It seems to me that it is now about the QB position at Indy in 2008. Someone help me out here....did this team not win 10 of 11 games in 2007 with the soph kid at QB? Call me what you want, but I believe the QB position may be the last position on the field that you people should toss around for discussion. Move along now folks....nothing to see here! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

I'll send you film of the 1st half of East game. You might change your mind. And then I'll send you a copy of the Millington game where Heckman had over 400 yards of total offense...in the state semifinals. I guess you just can't fix stupid. All involved execute correctly includes the QB. A receiver can't catch it if it is thrown to a defender.

Sounds like someone is lobbying here. Spring practice is right around the corner and time will tell.

Donathan, you have seen fit to be insulting. A true debater. I believe you have politics in your future as you have jumped on more bandwagons than Al Gore in the past year and are continually asking for an address to send something. Stupid is as stupid does... sleeper3773
He gets lots of reps at running back from the QB position. If you run the spread offense like Indy does it makes it much more effective to have a running threat at QB. And to your other point, not just anyone can throw a screen pass behind the line of scrimmage. But, some throw a screen pass behind the line of scrimmage for a pick 6. There is some truth to your statement that "He gets lots of reps at running back from the QB position." However it would be that much more effective to have him at running back. And if your statement is true regarding, running the spread offense like Indy does, then why didn't they use Emory Martin at QB back in 06 (if I remember correctly he reminds me a lot of Heckman with his running ability and sub par throwing abilities.) The answer to that is the 'ordaination' of Cordelle. But, of course, you already knew that.

Not 'lobbying ' for anything or one, simply stating observations. Everytime I visit the T to read up on what is happening in the world of middle tennessee football, I seem to always find something interesting going on in the Indy threads. Never fails! fan, you seem to "know" what is going on there, do tell! Preordained spring? Observations? Do provide vivid examples please sir/mam/whoever. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> Or, is this a classic case of an angry parent whose son is on the pine? I stand corrected, no more pine being used, most are of the metal variety now, gotta save the planet! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

I believe I'm clear that what I am saying are 'observations'- opinions, not lobbying or any other interests/agendas. Unlike some of the 'bandwagoning' I've read over the past year, I simply state what I 'observe'. This is the only reason I began to post this year to begin with. The amount of dribble, bandwagons, and fast opinion turnarounds was beginning to get to me, I guess. It was like trying to track Italy during WWll! Look up the history of changing sides if that one got past you.
