How does community look this year.Do they have any scrimmages with anyone havent heard of any.

Looks like the verdict is still out on the Vikings. I checked around and found out they scrimmaged Mt. Juliet Christian. Not sure how good they are but they usually win two or three games in region 4-1A. Community moved the ball well scoring 4 tds throughtout a 50 play offense 50 play defense format ( 10 at a time ), while not allowing MJCA to cross midfield. If the Vikings are going compete in region 5-1A they must play good defense.

Well, all you Region 5 fans, it appears that in 2009 we will be broken down into districts instead of the current Region matchups. I copied and pasted our projected District alignment below. It will be similiar to the current district breakdown for baseball and softball. What are your opinions on this? Notice that each district is broken down into classifications for playoff purposes also. That means Jo Byrns would no longer compete against Cascade, Forrest, or White House Heritage during the playoffs. Here is the new district alignment as posted on The Tennessean website:

District 9:

1A ??” Boyd Christian, Middle Tenn. Christian, Eagleville;

2A ??” Community, Cascade, FRA, Forrest, Ezell-Harding

District 10:

1A ??” Jo Byrns, Clarksville Acad., Nashville Chr., McEwen;

2A ??” White House-Heritage, Houston Co., East Robertson

Here is the Region 6 District breakdown by classification. If it is like softball, then I'd assume the 2A winner and runner up from the current region 5 would play region 6 2A. That would also put an end to the Jo Byrns and Mt Pleasant playoff possibilities. I really don't see how this breakdown is going to work since they only have 3 Region 6 teams slotted to compete for two playoff spots in 2A. Region 5 would have 8 teams trying to make two playoff spots....Doesn't hardly seem fair to me. Surely this will be corrected before it is validated.

District 11:

1A ??” Santa Fe*, Huntland, Culleoka*, Moore Co., Columbia Acad., Cornersville;

2A ??” Mt. Pleasant, Richland

District 12:

1A ??” Frank Hughes*, Hampshire*, Zion Chr., Perry Co., Collinwood, Wayne Co.;

2A ??” Summertown*

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
