Does anyone know where the Montgomery County Jamboree is going to be at this year? Any future responses will be truly appreciated.

the montgomery county jamboree is at rossview, and clarksville aca. plays at 530 against montgomery central. should be a good measuring stick to see how CA might do this year

Was told that Huntland and Cascade tied 14-14. That all I got for now.

I think their 1's actually had one more score than us, but not sure. Our 2's totally dominated, but that may be part of the problem. We may have a lot more 2's than we do 1's on this team. We did have 2 starting lineman out for this scrimmage and it really showed because the blocking was terrible most of the day. We had freshman in the lineup on both sides of the ball who are not ready yet for high school competition. No fault of theirs. Most freshman aren't ready for this level when they come up.

I'm not sold on this new defense. We are missing too many assignments and I saw receivers all day, left uncovered. I understand that anytime your installing a new system there is a learning period, but I can see our staff going back to a 4-3 if things don't get better soon. I'm sure we are experimenting with a 3-3-5 due to all the size we lost on the line, but without a defensive cordinator (no replacement for Austin was made) it's very hard to put in a new system. We had a guy lined up to take Coach Austins place who backed out right when training camp started and really left Coach Parker in a mess. Coach Rich is doing a good job of filling in, but his job doesn't allow him to be at half the practice and leaves him little time to get this sytem perfected. I'm seriously worried about special teams. Every scrimmage we've had has been on the small practice field, which doesn't allow for any kicking game. No kickoffs, punting, or field goals.

Now, junior, I'm sure your much more interested in Huntland. They have some size on the line and a decent QB. I believe the lefty got a little more playing time than the other kid. I'm not sure who'll be their number one, but I'm guessing the righty (number 1 I think) will be. Both make a lot of bad decisions if pressed hard. I know of two interceptions we had where he threw into double or triple coverage. They seemed to be a lot more pass oriented than in years passed. Didn't really attempt many runs against us. They threw a lot of screen passes and are more concerned with quick hitters than trying to get the ball downfield. Huntland block well for the most part. Their defense likes to blitz and put pressure on the QB. They weren't real fast, but pretty sure tacklers for the most part. They got to Carkuff pretty often, but that may of been due to good coverage as well as poor blocking by our line. I'd predict them finishing somewhere in the middle of the pack over in region 6 and possibly squeezing into the fourth spot if things go real good for them.

I haven't seen this prediction. I know Sonny Moore also has us ranked two. I can't put too much stock in to this prediction if they don't even have Union City in the top 10. From reading their boards, they are the team to beat, along with McKenzie.

I think that sometimes these polls don't do the research needed. They base the preseason polls based on past results rather than what team they have now. I love my Devils don't get me wrong but I have a hard time believing that a this point that we are number 2 in the state. In fact I wasn't overly impressed with that ranking of most of the teams. Reading what Cascde wrote they may not be having the best year either.(He could of course be blowing smoke).

Greatly Appreciated...we dont play them til late in the season, but stil wanted an idea. I even had a region 6 friend there texting me during the entire scrimmage letting me know how it was going. He couldnt figure out what kinda defense yall were running exactly so I'll be sure to inform him now!! He said cascade for the most part was the more physical team tho so that should be good news to ya! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

1. JB

2. WHH

3. Forrest

4. cascade

5. McEwen

6. E'ville

7. CA

8. NCS

9. MTCS

10. Community

I think it's a toss up at this point but this is my order right now. The top 5 have the best chance of making the playoffs. E'ville ???? The others will still struggle but are gaining ground. JB 4-Peat!!!Winningest group of JB seniors ever??¦

Now that all the scrimmages, jamborees and predictions have taken place, I still like my original order.

* I'm a little surprised with WHH's struggles on offense.

* Forrest is steady, should be a decent team.

* A little disappointed in the cascade/Huntland scrimmage, thought cascade would be more dominant.

* McEwen, like Forrest, seems to be steady so it's a toss up between these two team.

* E'ville seems to be OK at this point, not a lot of hype so I still like them at 6.

* CA has done well in their scrimmages (like last year) but I still think they are lacking, losing a pre-season All-State player will hurt.

* NCS lost a lot but they have a good coach and seem to be doing well in their scrimmages so they could move up.

* MTCS is @ 9 but a new coach will help, don't know that it'll help too much this year though.

* Community; well it's only their second year.

    • If y’all lose to Farragut something awful has happened.
    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
    • No sir. I watched it specifically and it was very dirty. He cleated the boy on purpose. Apparently, it’s an issue in football as well from what several schools have said. That said, looking forward to a good game 3. ER hit it well in game 2.
    • He is the transfer. 5star spoke on him in their new qb1 series. Didn’t list em as a transfer but I knew the name
