Dins, our game was very exciting. We had a PK stopped early, but we scored on a great free kick and a pull out in the first half. Diego ran through our defense to score in the last 5 or so in the first half for a 2-1 lead at half. In the second half their keeper played a long ball that bounced into our box and we miscommunicated and they got through to make it 2-2. With about 15 left we broke through and chipped the keeper to go up 3-2. Then in the last five, OR had a PK that our keeper made a HUGE save on to preserve the win. I have a few more grey hairs today. OR maintained possession very well but had trouble finishing with a few post balls. Also, we played way too defensive in the second half trying not to concede the goal. Hope the boys learned you can't sit on a lead or it will eventually go away. Good luck to the Soccercats against West on thursday.

Farragut/Maryville game was actually a very good game. The score is not at all indicative of how the game was played. It was a 0-0 up until about 12-13 minutes to go in the game. Farragut got a through ball past the defense and buried it. At that point Maryville started pushing everyone up for more pressure because a tie would have done Maryville no good in the district standings. So, after a few near misses, Farragut got 2 with about a minute to go and then a 3rd sometime in injury time.

Maryville had their chances early and they kept getting chances late by spreading the ball and with quick 1-2 touch passes. But in the end, Maryville can not finish. If they do figure out how to score, they could compete in this district, but until then it will be hard.

So...are you saying that Farragut was lucky to escape with a "W" (like the WEST game)?

Is Farragut the best in the district? Best in the STATE??????????
