chasanooga
ERSA Express '91 will play Stones River Strikers on May 10 @ Baylor School, 5pm. Both team are 6-1-0 and this is the final game (premier league)of the season for both teams. ERSA's only loss was to TNFC 2-1 while the Strikers beat TNFC 3-1. The Striker's only loss was to the Mandeville (La) Lakers 1-0 while ERSA beat the Lakers 3-0. The winner will become the Region III premier league champs and the loser will come in 3rd place. If they tie ERSA will win after going to multiple tiebreakers, least goals allowed. TNFC (finished at 6-1-1)and all 3 teams have qualified for the State tourney being played at Goodletsville this year. This should be a very exciting game to watch and for anyone interested in watching some top notch girls soccer this is a must see game. These two met in the state finals last year with the Strikers coming out on top. For all who were there last year, this was a most exciting game that was very competitive to the very end. I hope all soccer fans will come out to see these two teams play. Of course this guarantees the 3 Tennessee teams will finish 1-2-3 out of the 5 state region. DonCChatt
Go East Ridge! Home Field Advantage for East Ridge? A bunch of the Express players go to high school at Baylor, and play/practice all the time of this field. Most of the other players on Express have played many high school games there. SRFC lost all 3 of their games last weekend at the Carmel, Indiana Showcase. Will they be extra hungry for a win? SRFC is the 6-time State Champion, so they know how to win and what they need to do. One win, two losses, no ties? By the way, ESC Black finished #2 in Region III last year. A very, very strong team which won all three of its games in this tourney. DonCChatt
I stand corrected. SRFC went 1-2-1 in Carmel. The Edmond team mentioned was one of only 3 U17 teams in the showcase that won all 3 of their games. ERSA went 1-2-1 (they played 3 U17 games, plus 1 U18 game) at the same tournament (they had no common opponents). BTW, I have nothing but the highest regards to the SRFC team. They have set the bar that ERSA and other U17 teams are trying to reach (or exceed). They deserve everyone's respect for what they have accomplished over the years. I hope the game on the 10th is a great game.
chasanooga
Just a reminder to anyone who maybe interested that the Strikers and East Ridge Express play today @ 5pm Baylor School. There are 2 Baylor boys games being played earlier in the day. If you show up while the game is going and they try to charge admissionon just tell them that you are there to watch the premier league game as they will not (should not) charge admission for that game. DonCChatt
0-0 tie. What a game! I'll leave it to others to fill in the details, but a scoreless tie. 3-way tie in premier league --- TNFC, SRFC, and ERSA. Per the Premier League rules for tiebreakers, TNFC get eliminated first (goals scored [4-goal per game max]), then SRFC gets eliminated in goals allowed. Therefore, congratulations ERSA!!!!!!!
