Right! The referee was on the field and he obviously didn't see it

well maybe you need to quite being a bystander, become a USSF and TSSAA official and make your own calls and get ctritisized for them. Because I have been officiating soccer for 6 years and look at it from two points of view.

All I am going to say is the call was accurate. In no way was that a 50/50 ball. He did not attempt to head the ball first, it was chest high. Anytime you endanger the keeper the way he did it is going to be card and most likely red. If the same play happened involving a franklin player and brentwood goalie I would have expected the same outcome. The moran here is not me but you guys who do not understand nor respect the game of soccer.

Bottom line: Cleats were not up, goalie wasn't drop kicked, and goalie didn't even have clear possession of the ball. Oh, and brentwood still won...

Let's face it ... any other player on Brentwood and it probably would have only been a yellow. Mr. Jacobs acts as if every foul committed against him is intentional and the offending player should be carded, flops at the brush of a feather, taunts the crowd at will, and is probably not the most well liked player due to his own sportsmanship. It's hard to give this kind of player the benefit of the doubt. What comes around goes around. Like I said earlier, I just hope he learns something positive from this experience. He knows the rules. What I witnessed afterward was a player that knew he had just made a huge mistake. He'd better hope they don't lose the next two straight or its gonna hurt more! Learn from it. Deal with it.

I look forward to a another hard fought game WITHOUT all the drama and antics.

As a player for franklin, obviously you are going to be biased.

From a neutral perspective from up in the bleachers the ball was not in the keepers posession when #12 left to ground to get the ball. From what i saw it did look like his legs hit the keeper but this is because the keeper failed to leave the ground(no idea why he would just stand there and wait for the ball...) and was not malicious in any way. He probably should have been given a yellow card but a red was a bit harsh in all honesty.

As for the franklin player who shoved #12 after the play, he should have at least been given a red as well as he ran a good 5 yards and then proceeded toblatantly shoved 12 after the play was already over. Its not protecting your keeper if the play is already over.

And please if your going to call someone a moron at least spell moron right....

who is this brad jacobs kid? i used to play and follow soccer in wilco pretty closely, but have since moved away. i just got back on here the other day b/c a friend suggested it. is he the the stud player in the district this year? how good is he compared to other top player in 11-aaa the past few years? what's the deal with him taunting the crowd? please, if you don't like him, don't respond to this post to just bash him. i'm just curious because i had never heard of him before, but it seems like every post on here involves him in some way.

    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
