That he ran off? no more like they quit on their team because they wanted the SUPERSTAR treatment. But Cookeville will continue to get better. Nothing wrong with the coach one of the best in the state but you have to have a little bit of tallent.

You know I hate to even get on here and start anything, but some people may know these girls and I want to set the record straight. I do not know Mr.Jones and I'm sure he is like every coach, some people like you and some don't. But I will tell you this if you really want to see someone's true colors play ball with them. At some point and time they will show who they are good and bad. I have coached the pitcher for 2 years, and the catcher this fall. They are both going to play for me this summer, and I can't wait. I have never had a lick of trouble out of either one, and their team is looking forward to spending this summer with them and their parents. So don't tell me they wanted superstar treatment, cause I 'm not buying what your selling. I've played ball with them!!

Do think Coach Jones will be back next year with all of these problems? Then you should ask why would he want to come back? /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

In talking to someone close to that organization they think he will come back because his daughter is a member of his team. Their first baseman is a senior and his daughter will play varsity next year - deserving or not.

Hopefully Mr. Jones will see these messages and get a clue to how people think of him. Maybe he could turn around and be a man, find out all the problems he has, whether it was with the girls that are gone or the ones still playing, and solve the problems. It is a shame the 4 girls missed a year of school ball because of him. Maybe he could talk to these girls, iron out the things that are wrong, get them back to playing ball and help his other girls have a winning team. He has and has had real talent on his team, but threw it all away. The ones still playing deserve the best coach they can get because some of them have really tried, while his favorites have just coasted along.

Well said Zorro, thanks for a good follow up because it is all about the girls /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Well, you get to thinking, what if that was my daughter. How would I feel? Better yet, how would Mr and Ms Jones feel if that was their daughter being treated as these 4 girls have been? This comes in as the golden rule, you treat others as you want to be treated!!

Alice O'Brien: An Incredibly Amazing Athlete

I've been around this game for nearly twenty years and never have I seen a high school softball player with as much talent at the plate as Alice O'Brien. Most know that I was batting coach for well accomplished travel teams. This kid is the real deal. The form and power are absolutely textbook unmatched by any player in the midstate for quite a while for a player at this age. Though not hulking in size by any means, the power comes from the technique and confidence in the swing. She is one of the very few that buys into "FORM" over power and the results are that the "FORM" gives you the power and higher percentage of contact with the ball. For all of you girls in middle school that want to be a power hitter, Alice O'Brien is the epitome of the "PERFECT FORM".

Take Notes. /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />

    • If y’all lose to Farragut something awful has happened.
    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
    • No sir. I watched it specifically and it was very dirty. He cleated the boy on purpose. Apparently, it’s an issue in football as well from what several schools have said. That said, looking forward to a good game 3. ER hit it well in game 2.
    • He is the transfer. 5star spoke on him in their new qb1 series. Didn’t list em as a transfer but I knew the name
