BEST GRASS IN STATE!

Collierville - Bermuda. Immediately after the girls season, it is hit hard with Fescue seed for green grass in the early Spring for boys season. As soon as the boys season is over, the field is top dressed and is prepped for the upcoming girls season. Last year a couple of other extras were included.

This past year, it was perhaps one on the best paying surfaces in the west.

Houston resurfaced their field this year. The grass looks great but there appears to have been some settling of the soil and there field has wavy areas. a good rolling may benefit the field.

When states where played in the stadium in Chattanooga, nearly everyone of the players suffered some type of burn from the turf. As odd as this may seem, i would imagine that exposing an open wound to those pellets could likely be an issue if someone had an allergy. Perhaps not as far fetched as it may initially sound.

to be honest with you i would say that beardens field is by far the highest quality in the state i think they use 2 to 1 ratio of bermuda and winter rye that gives the field durabilit and yet a supple touvch on the through ball.

Did it get better since the Bearden tournament? It didn't have any grass on it then.

I would agree. Maybe the Bearden tournament aerated it because it was a mess due to all the rain they experienced. It seemed to have a lot of sand or dirt on it though as well so maybe they were in the process of growing grass.

It must have improved 100% since the Bearden Tournament. No grass, mud everywhere, etc. How did they get it to being the highest quality in the state in just a few short months.

I am pretty sure that this is a joke....please tell me it is. I wondered what all of the premier teams in Tennessee that played in the Bearden tourney was thinking. I know it was a couple of days of non stop rain and that could not be helped. But it was complete mud and again no grass. Again I think this is a joke.

    • If y’all lose to Farragut something awful has happened.
    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
    • No sir. I watched it specifically and it was very dirty. He cleated the boy on purpose. Apparently, it’s an issue in football as well from what several schools have said. That said, looking forward to a good game 3. ER hit it well in game 2.
    • He is the transfer. 5star spoke on him in their new qb1 series. Didn’t list em as a transfer but I knew the name
