May be a stupid question, but any idea of the strategy/process behind making the brackets especially in AA and AAA.? May not be a big deal, but there sure seems to be a "lack of balance" between the upper and lower brackets in these 2 divisions?

According to TBCA

AAA

Upper Bracket Ranking

Bartlett 2

Mt Juliet 3

Oakland 6

Science Hill 4

Lower Bracket

Arlington N/R

Ravenwood N/R

Lincoln Co 5

Farragut 1

AA

Upper Bracket

USJ 2

Gibbs 7

Goodpasture 1

Marion Co 3

Lower Bracket

David Lipscomb 5

Ripley N/r

Anderson Co 6

Bolivar 4

Oh, I guess I just thought that it seemed unbalanced?? Why not just combine all the divisions and throw the thing up in the air?

I agree they both are out of balance. According to the TBCA rankings released yesterday, #1, #2 and #3 in AA are in the same bracket and in AAA you have the #2 and #3 matched up in a first round game. According to an article I read about Oakland advancing, it said they were slotted with a "blind draw". I guess the NCAA selection Committee has been doing it wrong all these years by seeding the basketball tournament. They should have just been drawing them out of a hat.

I've seen a lot of people talk about how great the AA Championship game was last year between USJ and Goodpasture. Thanks to the clowns at the TSSAA, there can not be a rematch for the title.

Once again, the TSSAA proves they are run by a bunch of morons.

I just love how it has worked out. Oakland at home and Farragut against the weaker of the teams. I hope Arlington can surprise some people.........I am pulling for them. They are well coached and have played a pretty tough schedule

    • I have no clue if Derek tried to talk some since into his dad or not about staying here. All he is going to accomplish is going from the oven to the frying pan. If I were the coach all Ale would freze over before I set back and watched one of my good players leave without a fight.
    • If this is true, South Gibson is taking a big chance. Passing on an experienced coach for a guy who has never coached at the high school level is a high risk move, especially in that district and region.
    • Dorian Eskridge was HVA's best back, 2011
    • Jo Byrns was a very solid team last year. Imo, I thought they presented the biggest challenge for us on our path to winning it all last year. I expect them to be in the conversation and one of the final few teams playing in Murfreesboro
    • I'm not sure you understand anything if you think DB's career and AD's career are comparable.  This is a terrible take.   Not to slight AD, He was a good player and he got better as he matured after high school.   But Desean had over 8,000 yards in HS and was a two-time Mr. Football.
