And so it begins......! I look upon this season of Indian Football with reserve optimism. The Tribe can be a player in the hunt for a title, but again they open with a tough series of games. The pre-season will determine the players that are going to be in the mix for PT. I would think the Indians will do well in their scrimmage with Livingston and Stone, but it is really hard to say how this first scrimmage will go. The offense should improve and that defense, led by Coach Lambert, will be tough to break. Oneida has some formitable weapons at their disposal and I would think they know what a lot of them can do already. I would think they will get some of their backups some valuable minutes in the early scrimmages to get a clearer picture of where they will find their depth. Not to say they won't use their primary players too, but one would think the depth in all their positions will be given ample opportunity to show where they will provide the Tribe with their greatest strength. My guess is they have pretty much a stable of diverse and dynamic runningbacks, and they will all tote the rock quite a bit through the pre-season. Some names loom larger than others, but they all look pretty good on paper. I hope the recievers show up big early and they are going to have to provide relief for the runningbacks to get into space where they will be more effective. With more numbers to choose from this season look for several threats to emerge before the first game rolls around. The line is solid on both sides and ,hopefully, the younger ones had a good off-season in the weightroom. Don't look for Lambert to show all the cards early, but my guess is the Indians will fair well in this early test. Livingston and Stone are both larger schools that will only make the Indians better as they go, regardless of the outcomes. Lambo has worked his tail off to get the Tribe back to their old self, they appear headed in the right direction. We'll know more on Friday. Good luck, Boys!

I think it's easy to say that Oneida should dominate this scrimmage in every way. I just feel bad for the other two teams who will probably end up getting crushed. Livingston should be a little better from last year and I haven't heard much about Clay County so far this year, but I've heard enough about Oneida to know that LV and CC won't have a fun day. I hope everyone has a fun and safe scrimmage best to all teams.

Kaz the offense has a ton of weapons; the trick is using all of them to exploit the opponents weakness. the tribe is bigger, stronger, and faster. IF they are a little meaner and hungrier then they might have a good year. the key word is IF. It should be a fun year to be a fan. GO BIG ORANGE!!!

Good luck to the Injuns this season, should be a great year for the team and loyal fans.It will be tough ,but this outfit could go 10 and 0. They should get tested several times ,they have a pretty tough schedule.

Thanks pujo, the Indians will be on a tuff warpath this season. 7 of the 10 teams on the schedule were playoff teams last year. 4 of that 7 WON a playoff game last year. Some very good teams to knock around with. Good news is that Coach Lambert will have a lot of quality depth this year. Should be some great games. Shoot, we'll be back in Hampton before ya know it!

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
