After doing a few games in the area this season i figured i would update on the ranking from my previous post since I feel more informed

1. Bearden / The best overall team I have seen in the area thus far. Return alot of talent and have reloaded with more as well everyone should look out!

2. Farragut / Is deep as well, I just don't think they have the size and strength to compete with Bearden.

3. CAK / Can you say loaded! AAA with triple a talent! With their depth will be hard for any AAA team in the state to compete with the exception of FRA and Notre Dame maybe.

4. West / Lost alot from last year, but the youth is really stepping up for them. They have the best goalie in the area as well! I see big things for this team.

5. Oakridge / Will have trouble scoring early on, but replacing Howell with one player is impossible but with the talent pool oakridge has you know OJ will have them ready to roll.

6. Karns / Very solid could make some noise if there younger players can handle the pressure in the big games. Lost a couple to Hardin Valley as well.

7. Maryville / Alot like karns talented but not as deep as Farragut, Bearden, and Oakridge. If the chemistry is there and they have some girls step up they could be a force as well.

8. Lenoir City / Has talent, but not very motivated it seems. I would say very inconsistent, but could give teams problems

9. Catholic / YOUNG! Lost alot here in the last 3 years, but you know Leader wil have them ready to go. I would say will have a rough go of it early, but with their schedule and talent they will be there at the end. Not sure if they will get past CAK, but could limp to the tournament again

10. Powell / I see the talent just not sure it meshes well, but will admit the girls have sparks of brilliance. Once again lack of depth in a tough district and region tough to evercome.

11. Sevier County In arguably the toughest region in the state they have a solid club squad with a not so solid of a high school coach. Next year will be a good year for them getting to move regions.

12. Knox Central A decent group of young ladies, and depth again will be an issue, but could upset some schools if they do not show up to play.

13. Roane County In a tough district, but seem to have talent every year. Could compete in the end but have alot of work to do early on to get there.

14. Webb Great group of girls under sized and need work to solidify the defense. Losses of key players and coaching change will probably make this a rebuilding year.

15. Seymour Alot of talent just no depth behind them. Loosing 9 seniors will hurt them badly this year as far as leadership goes. The incoming freshman though are talented. Could be a force if they gel together.

16. Anderson County In the toughest district in AAA always seem to be on the outside looking in. This year with Catholic down they might have a chance, but we will see.

17. Hardin Valley The new kid on the block. Best player not able to play until tournament time will hurt them, but will grow together as a team this year and will be someone to watch in the coming years. Still has the talent to knock off some district opponents though!

18. Gatlinburg Pittman Up in the mountains we don't see them in Knoxville much. Very solid defensive team and were able to knock off Alcoa last year. Lost some talent to graduation, but always seem to have girls that are blue collar.

19. Alcoa Lost alot of production last year almost 50 goals with one returner with more than 5 goals this year will be a tough one. I think they will grow alot as the year progresses, and they will be young this year.

20. Pigeon Forge Lost the Price girl last year. Always are a very athletic team, and the coaches do well to get the best out of them. They will still probably have alot of work to do to make it to the sectionals.

Prediction? (Though I know this is a scrimmage, curious to know what you think...)

Not sure Leader and Norwood will surely look at alot of things since it is so early in the season, but I would say Catholic because once the subs are made Seymour will not hang with them. With the starters though I give the edge to Seymour.

Just wondering if any of the North East Tennessee Teams were considered in your East TN Top 10? If not, can you recalculate and tell us who your Top 10 in East TN are? If they were considered then why not post a Top 10 Northeast?

I ref soccer games in the Knoxville area so i would rather not rank teams that I do not know but I will say this I think the only 2 teams in that area that could possibly make the list are Dobyns Bennett and Greenville and I personally think Greenville will have to prove that they belong on the list with everything they lost last year, but I don't see anyone from up north coming out and going to the state tournament.

AAA CAK, Catholic, Gatlinburg Pittman, Anderson County, or Seymour

AAA will be Bearden, Farragut, Oakridge, or Maryville

Greeneville lost 5 Seniors. 2 were all-state and 4 are now playing college ball. It will be hard to replace that kind of loss. One silver lining is last years Freshman class which was loaded. Several started last year and most played in several games including playoffs so they are somewhat seasoned.

Greeneville should make a good showing but I kind of agree with easttnref's opinion as stated above.

    • The people need our help!
    • Lol when was last time they won region or got past the 3 rd round.
    • Gravedigger gotta finish filling the hole before hitting 40 East. May need a new Yellow Shirt play signaler on the Stones. And apparently a new strength coach now. Cicadas must've got shaken out of the bushes in Donelson. Hopefully the mower man sticks around to keep DG field looking pristine. Maybe new OC can call in a favor to his PGA friends that knows a thing or two about being green during the season. The heat is on soon. Bring in the 2 way freak Iceman and cool things off. He knows a thing or 2 about wildcats. Gotta take our talents South soon for Nationals. Don't step on my blue suede shoes.
