Yes Maryville will be strong. Hardin Valley also, Farragut still down. Bearden will run rampant through their district and region. Quite a change in District 4 from days past when all four of those were fighting for survival in the district semis.

She is a good mid but if I was picking a team, my first midfield choice would be the Smith girl from HVA based on watching them in HS. Student population: Texas A&M 68,000 Clemson 18,000. Alcoa logic--A&M should be a double digit favorite to beat Clemson on SAT. When are the Alcoa faithful going to stop drinking the Rankin kool-aid and using school population as an excuse when the Maryville game rolls around? The number of players on each team is close to equal and Alcoa has as many or more D1 and small college athletes as Maryville year in and year out. According to what I have read on here, Alcoa dominates at the junior high level. Shouldn't Alcoa fans be questioning what happens in high school when these players match up with the same players they dog-whipped prior to HS?

Maryville was a state semi-finalist in 2015 losing to eventual state champion Houston. And they returned to state in 2016 losing to eventual state champion Clarksville, 1-0. They have been there. However they are now playing second fiddle in their own county to last year's state champ Alcoa.

Is GPS over 90 miles from Oak Ridge or did they just have a bad day?

Certainly agree with BigG's "no dog in the fight" statement. It means a bit more to be regular season district champion when your district has Farragut, Bearden, West, Catholic, Maryville, Lenoir City than to be a district champ when the opposition is Oliver Springs (15-0, 13-0) , Oneida, Rockwood, Stone Memorial ((14-0),Tellico. For those outside Knoxville, numbers inside parenthesis are not those teams records but the scores of their matches vs CAK in 2013. Also, re Catholic being "ticked"--BigG you might want to make a couple of calls and see what district 4 schools were in favor of the change in process. Please let us know what you find out! That said, I can see both sides of the argument.

Maybe he wanted to give props to the Chattanooga team that came away from the first round with a W...or he did not cover the game because he could not fathom a behemoth like ND losing to a podunk public school after reading ND follower comments on coacht over the course of the season....just a thought. Tough loss for ND girls/have always been impressed with their coach and team skills/effort.
