Prayers for your team

I don't know where I found this, but we used to read it as part of our pregame prayers before Little League games:

Athletes Prayer

God, let me play well but fairly.

Help me to learn something that matters

once the game is over.

Let competition make me strong but never hostile.

Always let me help my opponent up.

Never catch me rejoicing in the adversity of others.

If I know victory, allow me to be happy; if I am denied, keep me from envy.

Remind me that sports are just games.

If through athletics I set an example, let it be a good one.

FCA Competitor's Creed

I am a Christian first and last.

I am created in the likeness of

God Almighty to bring Him glory.

I am a member of Team Jesus Christ.

I wear the colors of the cross.

I am a Competitor now and forever.

I am made to strive, to strain,

to stretch and to succeed

in the arena of competition.

I am a Christian Competitor

and as such, I face my challenger

with the face of Christ.

I do not trust in myself.

I do not boast in my abilities

or believe in my own strength.

I rely solely on the power of God.

I compete for the pleasure of

my Heavenly Father, the honor of Christ

and the reputation of the Holy Spirit.

My attitude on and off

the field is above reproach -

my conduct beyond criticism.

Whether I am preparing,

practicing or playing;

I submit to God's authority

and those He has put over me.

I respect my coaches, officials,

teammates and competitors

out of respect for the Lord.

My body is the temple of Jesus Christ.

I protect it from within and without.

Nothing enters my body that

does not honor the Living God.

My sweat is an offering to my Master.

My soreness is a sacrifice to my Savior.

I give my all - all of the time.

I do not give up. I do not give in.

I do not give out. I am the Lord??™s warrior -

a competitor by conviction

and a disciple of determination.

I am confident beyond reason

because my confidence lies in Christ.

The results of my efforts

must result in His glory.

LET THE COMPETITION BEGIN.

LET THE GLORY BE GOD'S.

I know it's fun to razz each other on Coacht, but let's put that aside and everyone list their team and all can pray for the boys on the field. Too many times a young man is injured and if we as a whole pray for them a miracle just may be witnessed this season. So if you want to put a team or player down go to another thread.

I'll start by adding the Station Camp Bison.

Trousdale County vs. Watertown

May both Teams play injury free.

THIS IS THE BEST THING I HAVE COME ACROSS ON THIS MESSAGE BOARD. THANKS FOR REMEMBERING THAT THERE ARE OTHER THINGS THAT NEED TO BE STRESSED IN LIFE. AND ONE OF THE BIGGEST ONES IS PRAYER.

SEQUOYAH CHIEFS

COACHES (PAST & PRESENT)

LITTLE LEAGUE TEAMS THAT FEED INTO THIS PROGRAM

FANS (THAT THEY WILL SUPPORT THE SCHOOL & PROGRAM & PUT ALL DIFFERENCES ASIDE)

Bison4 thank you for starting this thread! Too many times, Jesus Christ is left out of sporting events. I would like to send my prayers out for the RBS Bulldogs. These boys have faced many obstacles over the years. They have also had a couple of major injuries to some starters. Please just keep these boys on your hearts, and may GOD bless them with a win this year! I would also like to send out my prayers for anyone that puts pads on. It takes a brave soul to suit up in pads and look his opponents in the eye. GOD please protect all the players that suit up this season! Amen!
