Sports, you're crazy, Lee Humprey went to the Nike camp this year and was ranked in the top 50 of the camp! He will also play college basketball for UF, University of Florida! Stokomo, have you seen Maryville play? They have experience in every spot but one and return nearly every starter. They will be a little short handed on big men until football ends and until Drew Houser recovers from a broken wrist, but he will be back and stronger than ever! Last year against Willie B. they didn't beat us, we beat us, they forced us to play something we weren't used to and we choked, we didn't have anyone step up, don't think that will happen this year! If you shut down Lee we will have two 6'6" SF's or 3 guards to beat you with the dribble or the shot, also down low we have a pair of 6'4" big men that both bench about 300 pounds and have 30+ inch verticals. Our point or sg will be a tough spot to fill, but we will certainly get it done and we'll be a tough team to beat.

We played a few p[layers from Maryville and the whole team from William Blount in the AAU Sub-state in Knoxville. From what I saw, and no disrespect, Lee will be the only real competitive player that Maryville has. Although he is one of the best in the state, he cannot do it by himself when tourney time comes. There may be someone who will step up for Maryville, but from what I saw this past spring, Lee is the only real competitor.

Hey..there's no need to make excuses. I know where most of the players we played against. Anyway...just remember who beat William Blount and who didn't. We will never settle it until Maryville can get to where Science Hill seems to be consistantly each year. Get there and we'll see. One piece of advice, it takes a team to get there, no matter how good your one star might be.

    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
    • Dorian Eskridge had a great Junior year, highlighted by a great game to lead HVA to an upset win at OR that year. I think that was 2010. In 2011 OR won at HVA. OR had a real good QB that year l think. Dorian Eskridge had a great senior year also. He always played hard from the DCM videos l saw.
    • It seems we lost a ton to graduation. We shall see how it shapes up for 2024.
