Team Web Sites

Last year, we had a Thread on teams with good web sites, and many people posted web sites for their school. What I would like to try is this:

1. For the next 2 weeks or so, have people add links to their web sites (I've go ones from last year listed below). After a point, I'll cut it off, then

2. I ask people to vote for which web site they think is best. Sort of a "People's Choice Awards" for soccer team web sites in Tennessee. I'm thinking just one overall award, and if this is popular, going to a winner in each classification next year.

If somebody else has any recommendations on how to conduct this, I'm open to suggestions. In my mind, I don't have a specific grading criteria, but to me a good web site provides a way to see your schedule, your results, a links to pictures, newspaper articles, etc. Other "pluses" might useful links, directions to home and opponent fields, etc.

Last year, the Stongville Ohio team's web site was presented as a possible guide

I would love for it to have a lot more information, but frankly, we don't have the time. It is great just to have the site and thanks to the Platillero's for setting it up!

I had that link from last year, but all I saw on it was the boys side (not even the schedule for the girls). Plus, it has your picture in it.... Unless I'm missing something, its not really for the girls....

All credit for the Hog-eye soccer goes to my wife. It is truely difficult to keep them current. Between Work, School, Kids, and Soccer games, she does a Great job.

Web sites are useful. The letter home just does not cut it any more. I love looking at some other web sites. Gives us other ideas to add to ours.

Picky picky picky!!! Yeah, there isn't much of the girl's team on there (besides a picture). The site was originally made for the guys team with me and a team member's parents. We would love to have more, but as I said above, we just can't find the time. The school web site www.cakwarriors.com has the information on schedules and such, but it isn't just soccer.

My humblest apologies Don C...

    • Honestly the A.D. may be powerless at Maryville to some degree versus other schools. I know he has his hands full with GoFan and all the stupid surprises just from the emails he sends out during the season.
    • Harriman was better than what I anticipated. They had good skill guys and a QB that’s gonna make a lot of teams look silly. They had some silly pre snap penalties but it’s just spring and I guess that’s expected.    Oneida looks the part. They are big upfront and got a stable of backs that’s gonna carry them this year. They have a few playmakers at receiver also. They have a new receiver that has only played basketball till this year and he is very athletic. The question is can we find a QB to consistently get them the ball. They played 2-3 kids there and none looked great but they didn’t look awful either. The  defense is gonna be tough again but it’s very early and a lot can change between now and the fall.     It was good just to get out and watch some ball. I don’t know if Oneida has the team to win the region this year but just what I saw tonight I think they may be in the conversation come November.
