Find someone else to blame. You've had more coaches than anyone else in the area. Same result.

You had one good coach ( Dyer ), and got rid of him. MC has done nothing since.

the problem is people like you who are satisfied with an ok team ... did you go to the game 2 night >>>> it was embarrassing and don't sit here and say that they had better athletes because they don't. I have seen 4 years of nothing but down hill coaching. People have got to stand up and do something. tonight was the smallest crowd lafayette has ever brought to smith county and it isn't because they don't like football as much. It is because they are embarrassed to see the way the coaches have run the program into the ground. Dyer is still coaching the line and let me tell ya i saw how good he is at coaching them ha ha they have no foot work at all.

Snatch up those pee wee and jr high coaches....let the school board pay for them to get their education degrees and give them jobs. Then when they don't go undefeated every year like you all know they would....get rid of them too. That's the answer. But hey, I'm only trying to help.

I just can't understand why a great coach wouldn't want to take his family and move to a football utopia like Macon County! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

I use to love posting on here cause I am one of those crazy fans that do believe in the team no matter how bad it is. I don't post cause of all this negative stuff. First of all we have the talent not sure exactly what is goin on with that. People keep saying stand up to the board well, that will never happen ask anyone that lives here. What they say goes no matter what and not a darn thing you can do about it. No matter how bad it gets we have who we have in the coaching position so why not just support and back up who we got till something changes. All this other just makes it worse and the kids are the ones that pay for it. It still isn't too late. It is never to late and I don't care who wants to cut me down for saying it. We have been through worst times than this. All those boys need to do is believe in themselves again.

I shouldn't even waste my time with small minded people like the ones starting threads like this one. I can say if you don't like the coaching go to them and let them know or perhaps you can sit back and wiggle in your filth and "pity trips". Better yet think about going to college and getting the degree and apply for the coaches job. People like you and a few others are a disgrace to this county "which makes you look like a donkeys raer end"! BTW i supported coach dyer 100% and wish he was still involved in our program. Hope the tigers has a productive week off this week!

I have read most of the threads about Macon Co. and sat and shook my head at the vindictive attitude a few of the people that call themselves 'fans' have toward the current situation there. I am from Macon Co. and support the teams there that put in the time and effort it takes to play sports at the high school level. To all those who read these threads and see what the negative atmosphere is about in Macon, please understand that it is only a select few that act so disgracefully. All Macon fans are not so childish, rude, or hypocritical. We do not like those that are continuing to tarnish Macon's reputation either. Unfortunately, that seems to be the only thing Macon is known for now and that is sad.

With that being said, i've been to a couple of Macon's games and am very disappointed in the fans at the games. Yes, this year the team hasn't exactly blown the doors off the opponents. 2003 skewed many peoples perceptions about what Macon football was about. That team was special and did things that had never been done before. But it was an anomoly. As a fan, you cannot expect teams like that very often. Before that team, Macon was known as a solid team full of tough kids that used what talent they had to the best of thier ability and was respected around middle tennessee. Fan support was solid, and on friday nights the stands were full of people that enjoyed cheering on the kids and soaking in the friday night atmosphere. Where are those fans now? I was hugely disappointed in the lack of vocal support the fans had last night at SC. You could hear crickets chirp most of the night. Unless your Chattanooga Tyner or Maryville or Riverdale, your not going to have 12-13 win seasons every year. Especially in a little rural town like Lafayette. Coaches can only work with what kids they have to work with. They do the best they can, and on the occasion that they do not do as well as believed they should by whatever administration is in charge, they get fired. It the circle of life in the coaching profession. But please fans, don't lose sight of what the bottom line is. Football is a HIGH SCHOOL sport, and the kids that play VOLUNTEER to play. They play cause they love the game, and want to represent thier school in competition. So support the kids, both physically by being at the games and vocally by cheering and by being positive on CoachT. There is a time and place to voice any displeasure. Say school board meeting for example. On CoachT or around the players is not the place.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
