Giles County played a great game tonight. They had the Mustangs right where they wanted them but a turnover at the worst possible time is the difference in this one. I believe both teams will win out and will face each other again in the playoffs. Good luck on the rest of the season for DL and Giles.

Great game by Giles Co. and this is coming from a DL fan. They are the first team to be able to get anything going against Lipscomb's D. They definitely put a scare in the DL fans. They did a great job of controlling the ball, GC had the ball almost the entire 3rd quarter. If it hadn't have been for Zach Rogers and a couple of big passing plays, we might be talking about a different winner tonight.

WOW!!!!!!!!What a game.

Congrats to DL on the win, hope the Rogers kid is ok.

Giles out played the Mustangs on the field tonight but the breaks went to Lipscomb.Giles didnt trail in the

game until the 4th quarter.Rogers had some big runs to keep the Mustangs in this one,if not for that it

would have been a lot different.

Nontheless DL has a

great team and my hats off to them.

no, if it wasnt for the 2 personal fouls that should of been called against dl one where the player grabbed the gc player and threw him on the ground when the ref was right in front of him and didnothing but stand there with his flag in hand or maybe the kickoff which the ball was kicked off and they blew the whistle when it was caught to redo the last play.....then the following kickoffwas fumbled...... something seemed fishy if you ask me..... and no i aint being a sore loser or anything because i enjoyed watching the game it was a well excuted game but some officals need to be fired in my opinion giles would of won if it was not for the officials

David Lipscomb: 42

Giles Co.: 17

Again look for David Lipscomb to take something like a 28-3 lead into the halftime break. They will then add 14 points in a hurry in the third quarter before emptying the bench and watching Giles score a couple of times late against the JV.

Giles is an awesome team that could make a run at the quarterfinals this postseason HOWEVER the David Lipscomb Mustangs are simply in a universe of their own this year in 3A.

This prediction was way off. You would have loved this game Catfish. David Lipscomb did not seem like a team that is in a universe of their own, at all or at least not when the Bobcats come to town.

YEP. Some home kookin going on for sure. I understand that refs cant see it all but they should be able to see what they are looking straight at.And how can one ref standing one yard from the play get overruled by one all the way across the feild? On a catch and fumble no less.Couldnt even get a dead ball foul right.

TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE OFFICIATING.

GREAT,GREAT EFFORT by the kids on both teams, its a shame when the refs take away from that.

Congrats to Lipscomb, hope to see you again in November.

Good job Giles now look to Creekwood.

DL-42

GC-21

This will be the toughest test so far for the mustangs. Giles has some athletes that can compete with them, but DL is just too good. Look for a couple of those GC touchdowns to come off 2nd and 3rd team defenses. Maybe DL will pass some more. Their passing game looked great against Creekwood.

You were right about one thing......The Toughest Test, but wrong DL is not just too good......perhaps just a teeny tiny little bit better and that is certainly not an absolute. Big talk about the 2nd and 3rd team defenses. If they were in, they must have traded jerseys with the first team. What happened 427?

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
