Blue21SallyAt7
From what I've seen, Fiegler at Alcoa has ALOT to learn before he can be successful in high school. His throws are high, he's not the most athletic QB in the world, and his head is about 3 sizes to big for his body. If he gets someone to work w/him on his mechanics, and can de-flate that head, he could be a good QB in the next 2 or 3 years. They say Rouse could be one of the better QB's to come through Blount Co. He has to prove himself though. If he's as good as they say he is, then Maryvile will have no problem making it back to th boro for the 3 peat. Maryville's big key is finding a QB that can prove himself, and finding a new defensive leader after the loss of colton baker.

oldreb
no one of this year could could compete with nick giles or reese mcmahan. they both had brains and were athletic
Blue21SallyAt7
oldreb, if you can honestly sit here and write that nick giles was athletic, you're out of your mind. giles was the most unathletic quarterback i have ever witnessed take the field. he just happened to have probably the best cast of surrounding players that maryvill had ever had, which in turn made him good. he is no better than an average quarterback, on a GREAT team. REBELRON
Posted by Blue21SallyAt7:oldreb, if you can honestly sit here and write that nick giles was athletic, you're out of your mind. giles was the most unathletic quarterback i have ever witnessed take the field. he just happened to have probably the best cast of surrounding players that maryvill had ever had, which in turn made him good. he is no better than an average quarterback, on a GREAT team. Nick may not have beaten everybody with his athletic ability but he beat you because he hardly made mistakes. He would audible at the line to a play that worked 90% of the time. He was like a point guard of the offense.
MaryvilleRebels
Ron is right, he might not beat you with his feet, but he will beat you with his mind. He didn't make mistakes because he was smart enough not to!

flyinpro
Nick Giles and Reese Mcmahan can not be viewed in the same light. Both were there for the most part because of politics. Nick was not very athletic to be sure but was very smart and did not make mistakes with the ball. Good kid and had a great cast to work with. Reese was not big enough to see over his line and missed many opps to make plays. Also playing both ways is never a good idea at the 4 or 5A levels. Reese should have been catching wojo's passes and then WB would have won a few more games. But WB rotates coaches as soon as the family completes thier senior years. Rouse is a year away, but with Murville being 3 deep everywhere 20 kids could be coached to be effective with the cast this year. If your a reb fan your in for another great year. Bank on it!! Blue21SallyAt7
If Reese didnt play QB last season for WB, they would have went 0-10. They ended the season 6-6, w/Reese picking up 6 wins, and Wojo picking up 6 losses. WB lost every game while Reese was hurt. They won every game that Reese played in. They had no choice but to play Reese at QB b/c the team responsed better to him as a leader than they did Wojo.
