OLD PIRATE

Recommended Posts

Old Pirate has always kinda kept up with the youngons but recent success has brought a lot of old pirates to watch these kids. The Pirates have been very successful during the last 5-6 years. OP did a little checking and perhaps off a little but this years seniors went undefeated their eigth grade years and over 2 years lost 1. Since that time, the Pirates have compiled winning seasons with 2 losses in that stretch. This years eighth graders have a undefeated tenure wearing the Orange & Black for the middle school. OP says the coaches have lost 1 game in 3 yrs & 2 games in 4 yrs. Old Pirates everywhere have come to respect the job that has been done. This OP says thanks for the Great job and time spent working with the youngons of SP.

Who won the game last night?

SP 18 - Rhea 8

Old Pirate witnessed this game and what a game it was. SP up 12-0 Rhea with the ball late in the second called a well executed screen pass to a RB who was tackled on the 3 yd line as the half expired. SP on their 1st possession

of the 3rd qtr had a chance to break it open when the SP QB off play action hit a streaking wing on a seam pass deep into Rhea territory, but while being tackled fumbled the ball. A Rhea player picked it up and returned it inside the SP 40. Rhea scored on a timely drive that ate up about 5 minutes, Rhea went for two making it 12-8 in favor of the Pirates. SP answered and put together a drive and went up 18-8 which was the final score.

OP says congrats to the SP middle school on a great season. The Pirates have won 3 consecutive championships and have reached the last five championship games. The Pirates have only lost 1 game in the last 4 years under the present coaches and have been to the championship game the last 5 years and winning 4. OP is not sure about the total record but it has been impressive.
