Pre-season Predictions

Siegel could make a run at a state championship. Although they lost Tyler Cutter to graduation, they return Dominick Nicholas, Kerry Hammonds, and Levon Tate. 3 players that could lead them to a championship. Kerry might have a legit shot at a Mr. Basketball finalist as well. Kerry Hammonds is very good and under-rated!

Melrose was VERY young last season. The Memphis area is a meat grinder to begin with. Very tough with basically a team of Freshman and Sophmores to handle that kind of schedule. This Melrose team is probably the most talented team in the state top to bottom.....they just don't have the experience. If the Melrose class of 2011 stays together they are going to be OFF THE CHARTS their junior and senior seasons. I think they could be a year away from winning the whole thing but wouldn't be suprised if they make it to State and make some noise this season.

Raleigh Egypt will play hard for Coach Adams because this may be his last season on the bench. Raleigh Egypt is also due to make it after being 1 of the most talented team in Memphis the past 15years.

 

White Station you have to believe they will make it because they did it last year. They will miss Marquette Murrell more then people think. He was a great defensive presence for them. They don??™t have a player like that now.

 

Central core players have been together 3yrs now. Its time for them to make that big jump. Central beat 3A state Champs Ridgeway last season for the city title. This season they add 6??™6 Cameron Clear and 6??™7 Jerrel Stokes to a team that beat Ridgeway last year. After losing to Melrose in the district title game last season. Revenge will be on there mind.

 

Melrose still young but this team can beat any team in the state on any given day. Adonis Thomas & Chris Jones will look super some games but look average others. That comes with them being young. Melrose has the deepest bench in the city so Chris & Adonis can have off nights and they still win. This team has 5 players on the bench that would start for most teams in Memphis. I think this team could make it this year if all the players are on the same page. Its hard to manage this much talent but it??™s a good problem to have

I think LA has a great shot. AA is very competitive. LA's gotta be in the top 5 or 6.
