Can Harpeth beat Fairview?

Only the Harpeth coaches can answer the question of why the weapons aren't being utilized. The coordinator leans heavily toward his desire to have a running game as he seems more concerned with trying to bring along his young pupils from last year's middle school squad rather than go to his experienced and proven returning weapons early and often. I'm talking about weapons that can move the chains and put points on the board against good teams. Go figure. The defense plays hard but they can only do so much. If we see the same offensive game plan against Fairview that we saw the past two or three games, tonight's game will be over by half time unfortunately.

Harpeth could not stop Ethan Cassidy and that was the difference in the game. They had one good scoring drive and missed the extra point to tie the game in the first half 6 - 6. The second half was all Fairview.

Well, actually Harpeth turned the ball over on downs inside the Fairview 10 once in the first half. The second half was all Fairview after 3 picks. That made for a tired defense. This game reminded me of the Hickman County game where the Indians were in the game for 2 1/2 quarters, but were gassed on defense the last 1 1/2.

 

Fairview impressed me with their version of the veer and they have 2 hard running backs that pounded the rock. The played more physical and they deserved to win. Still, Harpeth didn't make the most of their opportunities with the 3 turnovers, some dropped passes and the missed scoring opportunity in the first half.

 

Congratulations to the Jackets for making the playoffs again.

 

Harpeth, you've got to take advantage of your opportunities. You should be 6-3 right now.
