Does anyboby have the stats on TYLER ROBINSON from Alcoa.Because I've seen film of him on a couple game's and he is a BEAST.At 6 foot 4 and 250 pound's he has the best hand's I've seen in a long time and can block to.And on defense he is one of the best i've seen play the game.So if anyone could let's us know his stats it would be appreciated.

These are according to the Knoxville News Sentinel (which are generaly lower than what the team keeps record of) through eight games (approx 20 quarters) he had 46 tkls, 4 scks, 5 tfl, and on offense 23 rec 336 yds 14.6 ypc and 8 tds. Without question Tyler Robinson is the most dominant lineman in all of 2A his stats may not be extraordinary but keep in mind how little he gets to play because no one in 2A can hang with Alcoa and well that 91 point gatlinburg debacle was a little embarassing and now Alcoa has to do all they can to prevent it from happening again, not to mention it seems his only competition comes from a guy from Adamsville. Lets be serious it would be disgrace if a player from a school that terrible beat out the most dominant player on the only team in 2A that can contend for a state title.

It is not a team award it is an individual award based off of stats and what they mean to a team. It is even more impressive then that Carroll plays on such a "terrible team" when he leads the state and is ranked nationally in total tackles. Your guy is a great player on a great team he should have better stats than most other players. No disrespect intended for the tornadoes. I think it is great what you guys do each year.

What a classy way to promote your kid! Trash another one and his team! Priceless! Alcoa has a great program year in, year out. Instead of trashing another player and his school, just promote your own and be proud of him! I wouldn't trade Josh Carroll for anyone!

Josh Carroll from Adamsville for 2A lineman! The young man as a sophomore led the state in tackles and made All-State!! This year through 8 games he has 135 tackles so far with 90 solo and 45 assists! He has 13 tackles for loss and is averaging 16.9 per game with 1 interception and 2 fumble recoveries! He has the mind of a coach on the field and is the captain and leader of the defense! He runs the lanes better than anyone I have ever seen and will flat out lay the wood! He exhibits all the attributes of a great linebacker/lineman! Stance, alignment, keying, responsibility, blow delivery, tackling, play coverage and pressuring the quarterback! He is especially good at keying by reading the quarterbacks eyes and movement on the snap of the ball. Can easily back into pass coverage playing into zone, fire zone or man coverage! Reminds me of the old type backer that wore the sweater, jockey pants and leather cap for a helmet! Would not surprise me to see his jersey retired along side his dads when he is done here at Adamsville! The great thing for us fans is we get to see him play here for another year! He has already proven his All-State status for this season and by the way, did I mention he is also an honor roll student!!!!

Mason Sharp from LC for lineman, he is a very strong kid that is tough to block. Not sure on his complete stats, maybe don haney or some other LC fan could help me out with tackles on the year. He should at least be a nominee for lineman if not win it.

Then there is Kane Crowell - the QB and DB for Lewis County. There is no doubt that statistically Jobronski Gilbert (spelling ?) is deserving of Mr. Football honors, I mean WOW what a year. But for anyone that follows Lewis County football, you know what Kane Crowell means to this team. His numbers won't stack up to Gilbert's rushing or Overbey's passing stats - because LC's offensive attack is very versatile. It seems like every week there is a different leading rusher. Crowell's running ability is second to none as far as QB's go. He is a hard-nosed runner that can also make guys miss in the open field. And defensively - he is among the team leaders in tackles and I think second in interceptions with 5 or 6. He could play college ball as a db if he so chooses.

Kane Crowell of Lewis County plays both sides of the ball equally as well and plays almost every minute of the games. Mr. Football seems an all encompassing title so I think the player who does the most for his team would be high in the rankings. Kane not only runs and passes and tackles, but on more than two occasions I have seen him hand off the ball, pass the back in the open field and be the lead blocker. I do not have his stats readily available but I will get them and post them later. There are no stats for a QB who hands off the ball catches the back from behind and lead blocks for him. That in itself is extraordinary. Hopefully I will be able to post some video links later so you may judge for yourselves. A specialist can become accomplished through repetition. A utility player like Crowell who plays equally as well in any position personifies MR. FOOTBALL in my opinion.

I do not recall anywhere in my post where I trashed an individual player but yes I did trash his team, and I stand by the fact that giving a player from Adamsville Mr. Football is a poor decision. Giving this player from Adamsville Mr. Football would like giving Gerald McRath the Dick Butkus Award over James Laurintaitis, Brian cushing, Rey Maualuga, Travis Lewis, or Brandon Spikes. What you have no idea who Gerald McRath is; that is exactly my point ( He plays for Southern Miss and leads the FBS in takles). Awards don't have to go to players on the number one team but yes big awards should go to players who are least on teams that can compete with the upper echelon.

To reiterate my point what has this Goodpasture player done against Alcoa the past few title games. Good players look average against Alcoa this shows how much better Alcoa's players are and why they are more deserving of accolades like Mr. Football.

So because Alcoa is the best team, no one else is worthy of any type of recognition, including personal awards? You need to get over your pride.

The simple answer to your question is yes, but I will elaborate a little bit more for you. Alcoa is not just the best team no other team in 2A has shown they even belong on the same field as Alcoa and this is why no one else deserves to be considerd the best lineman in 2A. Coversely Maryvlie is the best team in 4A but they have not shown the outright dominance that Alcoa has even though they don't loose, teams can play close with Maryville and this is why I would have no problem with a Marsalis Teague or Eric Gordon winning 4A Mr. Football. I also recognize that Alcoa, due to split carries and short games, has no strong back competitor for the award and like I said earlier would reluctantly award the player from Milan the award.

    • Tough situation.  Not sure the ROI is there right now.   Might be better options that are cheaper.
    • Yeah summer ball is really fun, but a lot of coaches are trying to play several kids to get much needed reps that they are not accustomed to. I would imagine Gibson County will have lots of players playing to get much needed reps. Want to win games but got to get experience as well and the rotation will be much deeper. I will be at MTSU, UTM Bethel and others. MTSU is the one I really look forward to.
    • So who are the new additions to the staff? Serious answers only please.
    • Its always interested to see the state teams the following summer after losing or not losing seniors and getting freshman and transfers. It's almost time.
    • Maryville has Alcoa on the schedule at the right time of the season which helped last year instead of at the first of the year not knowing much. West will be hard pressed to repeat this year but next will be a different story.
