Yea its definately incentive but it will never happen. Expect the outcome to be just like the last four years.

Yes it will. cause harpeth will not be able to stop anything sycamore throws at them. And they wont be able to slow down morris and lane. especially carrigan

Don't expect much from this one. Playoff talk for Harpeth went out the window at Fairview. Harpeth's wins this season are against four sub-par teams that have a combined won-loss record of 8-29. Even if they did beat Sycamore (not likely), they aren't going to get any consideration for the playoffs.

Harpeth has a serious identity crisis.....don't know who they are or what they are supposed to be. They have playmakers who have become non-factors because of the schemes and the play calling.

The Harpeth defense is better this season, but they cannot stay on the field drive after drive. The Harpeth D should be better next year, but there are lots of question about the O.

Had a chance? Heck, Harpeth should have won. This one wound up 26-20.

As in any ball game, a few key plays or calls made the difference.

1. A bogus pass interference call that led to a Sycamore touchdown. The referee was so out of shape and out of position, he didn't have a shot at seeing what happened on the play. Threw his flag anyway because he didn't have an aspirator in his pocket. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

2. The touchdown at the end of the 1st half was just soft play on the part of Harpeth's defense. Come on guys! The worst that can happen is a pass interference call instead of 2 db's looking at each other waiting on the other one to make a play. To win close football games, you have to play aggressive and not be afraid to hit the receiver and have a flag thrown on you. Very, very disappointing.

3. Harpeth gets back in the game and is down by 6. Sycamore is facing 4th and long in the 4th quarter in an obvious punting situation with 3:42 left. They call time out to talk over the punt coverage I guess. Why not run the clock down 35 seconds, take the delay of game penalty and THEN call time out? A bone headed time out I thought. It should have bit Sycamore in the butt but it didn't. They gave Harpeth 35 more seconds of game clock to work with.

I wasn't too impressed with Sycamore. They've dropped off quite a bit from last year it looks like. Lewis Co, Hickman Co or Fairview would have beaten them I think. Depends on whether a good running team can get yards on their defense. Harpeth got 214 through the air, which was a season high.

Still, no excuses. Harpeth let this one get away on their own. The 1st half touchdown with 3.5 seconds was a back breaker. Good teams don't get beat on a long pass play at the end of a half.
