District play starts tomorrow night for several district teams.

Livingston vs. Macon

Upperman @ Smith

York vs. Cannon

What do yall think?

Livingston, Upperman, York should all win comfortably....LA looks to be getting much better and I hope they do as they enter in to district play! Go LA!! Glad to see Mackenzie back in the line up.

Whats up with York? Region runner up to almost getting upset by Pickett and then an usual under dog Cannon County, who has not been strong in years past, beats them by 11. Was it just a surprise last year or is the a phenomenal collapseof a program in little time? Has the Coach Wright situation somehow affected the girls play, too?

Cannon may have been an underdog in years past but thats been changing since their postseason run last year. The girls are starting to gel a little more every game. Coach Dodgen has done a "OUTSTANDING" job of building this program. My congrats coach! Pickett is no door mat either. I don't think it's that York has collapsed but rather that the competition has gotten stronger. I posted before the season started that 7AA would be more competitive than most people think and 7A is turning out that way as well so far. A team is not strong because they're A,AA, or AAA but more on coaching, hard work, and desire. Bottom line is in the upper cumberland you better have your A game every night.

Your right about bringing your "A" game every night....Last night Cannon beat York (which I was wrong about) by living by the 3 ball.. One girl had nine threes and as a team they had 13(I think). Cannon sounds like they are playing well right now as they are putting up some big numbers. It will be interesting to see if they keep up the pace thru out district play. Good luck to them. York is a good team IMO that hasn't hit their "groove" yet. I have to think they will as they have returned the core of their team from a year ago, although I also believe 7-AA is probably more competitive this season than in years past.

It was Emily Sissom #11 who had 9 three's. Also finished with 36 points i believe. She's a very good ball player, and just a sophmore. So there should be even better things to come from her in the future. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> It was a entertaining game to watch. As was the york/cannon guys game

    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
    • Dorian Eskridge had a great Junior year, highlighted by a great game to lead HVA to an upset win at OR that year. I think that was 2010. In 2011 OR won at HVA. OR had a real good QB that year l think. Dorian Eskridge had a great senior year also. He always played hard from the DCM videos l saw.
