lol at you, nightslikethese...you were the one that was silent since last friday...didn't see you reply to any posts?

WreckingCrew....i for the most part agree with about everything you have said on these boards vs all those polk fans...6+4+3=2......WC has got your number!!!

don't care what the DPA says....central will be ready

smokey04, I have a lot of fun with the Polk fans. I know I can get under their skin and totally dominate their thoughts and actions just by telling them the truth. They know that not only did Central elevate their program in two short years, but they blew right by Polk and now have a current two game winning streak over them. Since Polk can't compete with Central on the field, the Polk fans have resorted to illiterate trashing of Coach Derrick, the players, the fans......anything associated with Central. It's envy and jealousy on their part because they don't have an answer for Central's success, and they're already fearing next years game. Actually, it's sad how some of the Polk fans associate happiness and everything in their life by what a bunch of 16-18 year old kids do on a Friday night.

Now, about you agreeing with most everything I say, I might warn you that will get you into hot water with the Polk fans.....and maybe even some Central fans. Since you said you agreed with "most" everything I say, at least you've got a clause built in there to cover your butt should you disagree. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

To be honest, even my wife don't agree with everything I say or think. But that's OK, and I wouldn't change her opinion even if I could. And I don't expect all Central fans to agree with me......although I'm always right. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

And you're right about the DPA article. It's 'coach-speak' designed to make his players strive harder in practice, and even for the opposing team to read. Naturally, any head coach is always concerned and more aware of the implications of being in the state playoffs, thus he won't usually be fully content until everyone practices perfect and understands that a loss ends your season. The Chargers still need to prove themselves on the field Friday night, and although as a coach you never know if everything you practiced on will fall in place (reference the Howard game), I believe the young men are ready and anxious to get the region 4 monkey off their back.

The fact that you agree with the troll speaks volumes about your intelligence as well! Coach Derrick must have a big desk! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

So you don't believe what Coach Derrick is saying in the paper maybe he preparing everyone for another let down or just poor mouthing.

your disgusting response speaks volumes about your intelligence and your character!

coach d is just talking like a head coach...all coaches do it....just heard through the grape vine that work is getting done in practice.

I said he needed to be gone because of all the things he has done off the field but Central is a better with him playing period is that hard for YOU to understand! Central cannot replace his talent and ability with him on the field the defense had to respect him and have a game plan for stopping him, now all they have to do is pressure Rayl.

smokey04 as for being a Howard fan I love the way Howard plays, their coaches are first class and the players are very disciplined. I might pull for Central if their coach and some of its players had some class and was a little more humble this goes for some of its fans as well! Confidence I can handle but not arrogance there is a big difference! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

/thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Got it! I think. Did you leave the word "team" out of your first sentence after the word "better"? If so I think you and I are on the same page. Central is better off "chemistry" wise but not "talent" wise. Correct?

Oh, you mean after I picked Howard to win, but then chose to not to rub it in your face when they won? Yeah, Im obviously startled by the verbal abuse of the Central flunkies. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

just noticed that dekalb beat sycamore 20-6. have heard that sycamore is just not very good and dekalb is all world....what happend in this game? i know one game is just one game, but should have dekalb won this game more convincingly? any info?

We should have beat them alot worse, had some key drops that stalled more than one drive not making any excuses though. The game was on the road and it was the first time we ever scored on them. Ever!!!

Smokey... WC,

You guys can't be serious. Granted, Central has had 2 very good seasons. But even drunk on your BLUE KOOL-AID, you surely can't truly believe that Central's program "blew right by Polk." The mark of a good program is longevity and 2 years certainly doesn't qualify. Polk ,on the other hand, hasn't lost fewer than 7 games since 2000. I would agree that Central has had a better team over the past 2 years, but to say that their program is better than Polk's is pushing it to say the least. I doubt Central will match Polk's feat of 8 straight playoff appearences (and counting) anytime soon.

No diffrent than Mcminn centrals game against East Ridge. Sycamore will be closer than 33-14 against Howard. Dekalb will score at least 28 so this one will be a shootout if anything. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    • I've always been a football fan first and then if you have a band that's awesome. No question that DB has one of the best bands in the country and the whole region should attend at least one DB game just to see their band. I don't know if Nick Saban could come to Kingsport and build a football program that could match the Dobyns Bennett band's success. That said,as mentioned before, a couple of things would have to change in order for the Tribe to just win a state championship on the field.Besides a program that starts from the peewee teams and goes all the way to J Fred with all coaches and weight training { in time }on the same page. Sometimes it also takes a little luck like the 1998 Vols .There are a lot of great athletes at a lot of big schools around the state and just because you want something doesn't mean your going to build a program like Alcoa has. Yes,start at the bottom and have guys that are quality coaches teaching at every level is 100% the first step. Parents can make it a lot easier by getting their young athletes into an early start with conditioning and weights as well when they are old enough to lift.If your son is a man in the weight room before he gets to DB , then it won't take a "Dobbs" coach to make him competitive against other schools athletes when it comes to strength.
