This will be just the AAA portion; A and AA will follow on the 1A-2A-3A board.

Region 1

District 1: Daniel Boone, David Crockett, Dobyns-Bennett, Science Hill, Sullivan Central, Sullivan South, Tennessee High, Volunteer

District 2: Anderson County, Cherokee, Cocke County, Jefferson County, Morristown East, Morristown West, Oak Ridge

1 is unchanged. With only five schools left, District 2 needed more, and OR/AC were best placed for that, especially as their old district was oversized.

Region 2

District 3: Campbell County, Clinton, Halls(K), Hardin Valley, Karns, Knox Central, Powell, West

District 4: Bearden, Farragut, Knox Catholic, Lenoir City, Sevier County, Seymour, South-Doyle

Schools were moved out for reasons of overcrowding and to shore up undersized districts elsewhere.

Region 3

District 5: Bradley Central, Cleveland, Heritage, Maryville, McMinn County, Ooltewah, Walker Valley, William Blount

District 6: Cookeville, Cumberland County, Rhea County, Soddy-Daisy, Warren County, White County

Admittedly, District 5 isn't ideal, but like the old football 5A2, it's largely forced, and at least its most remote outpost is removed. (Ooltewah could also go to District 6--it and Soddy-Daisy are the last remnants of the old District 6.)

Region 4

District 7: Blackman, LaVergne, Oakland, Riverdale, Siegel, Smyrna

District 8: Coffee County, Columbia Central, Franklin County, Lawrence County, Lincoln County, Shelbyville Central, Tullahoma

With a large chunk of old District 7 gone, the most sensible way to rebuild its numbers appeared to be to realign its boundary with District 9 to the Rutherford/Wilson line. 8 is basically unchanged.

Region 5

District 9: Beech, Gallatin, Hendersonville, Lebanon, Mount Juliet, Portland, Station Camp, Wilson Central

District 10: Clarksville, Dickson County, Kenwood, Northeast, Northwest, Rossview, Springfield, West Creek

District 9 becomes a pure Sumner-Wilson district, and 10 changes only by adding West Creek and dropping Henry County (who is needed on its own side of the river).

Region 6

District 11: Brentwood, Centennial, Franklin, Hillsboro, Hillwood, Independence, Ravenwood

District 12: Antioch, Cane Ridge, Glencliff, Hunters Lane, John Overton, McGavock

The only need for a change there was that District 12 was too small, and Overton was its logical next team in.

Region 7

District 13: Brighton, Dyer County, Hardin County, Henry County, North Side(J), Munford

District 14: Arlington, Bartlett, Bolton, Cordova, Craigmont, Millington Central, Raleigh-Egypt

Even with Dyer County falling in, District 13 needed to grab Henry County to keep a size of 6. 14 is unchanged, although I would not be surprised to see it rearranged to contain entirely and only the county-system schools.

Region 8

District 15: Collierville, Germantown, Houston, Kirby, Overton(M), Ridgeway, Southwind, White Station, Wooddale

District 16: East, Hamilton, Melrose, Memphis Central, Mitchell, Whitehaven

No change there except the addition of Mitchell. If you want to have an 8-7 balance rather than 9-6, White Station is the team you would move.

The only changes that I would suggest would be to trade Lenoir City out of District 4 for Heritage out of District 5. The Blount Co. schools would pass right by Lenoir City to come south and Heritage would be closer to Sevier Co. and Seymour than Lenoir City anyway. Also just swap District 7 & 8 outright. normally the the districts run east to west anyway and District 6 would have to cross District 8 to get to 7.

my understanding of the reason for adopting plan Z was to improve travel problems and to preserve regional integrity for all sports. Your proposal flies in the face of that reasoning. Henry county has been districted with Clarksville/Dickson for many years. Nortside, the closest, is 60 miles away.Next is Dyer at about 80 miles. Hardin , Munford, and Brighton are all over 100 miles from Paris. I am sure that none of them enjoy the long road trips and the expense involved any more than do we.

Question regarding district 9. The top 2 teams are in the playoffs and so are 2 of the 5-A teams putting 3 teams in the playoffs. Will the winner of Leb vs. MtJ be the 6-A team from this district, is that not correct. That is just the way I understand the rules...I could be wrong that is why I ask.

Nobody can say it better than the "wise olddevil"!! What most people forget is....this is not just a football realignment! Henry County has competed in District 10-AAA since it's beginning in 1981. Since then we've seen Cheatham County come and go, now probably Springfield will be diverted to another district........but Henry County will be in 10-AAA, you can bet your season tickets on it! The only crime to commit would be shifting Dickson County out as well!

Dyer County may burn their campus if HC lands in their district as Silverpie has suggested! That too would force Henry County to find 5......yes 5 non-region games for the next 4 football seasons.......and there is NO WAY the TSSAA would make HC do that! What a basketball and baseball district as well!

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
