So is the coaching search underway now or are they gonna wait till after the holidays? When are they looking at bringing someone in?

 

Here's the FACTS from someone in the school system. The head football coaching job has been posted. The Director of Schools is taking applications and resumes through Nov. 20. The Director and the board hopes to fill the position by the end of November. Several "homers" have applied and there are RUMORS of others from NE Tennessee and other places.

Coach B. knows what hes talking about. I've heard that a homer basically has the job.

 

I did not say that a "homer would get the job. At this point my personal opinion is, and I bow to the higher authority, only GOD knows who the next head coach at UCHS will be. Several of us are praying that the RIGHT person be selected.

Graduated from there in 1998. They don't care about football overall. Some diehards do such as myself, but most of the town could care less. Baseball and Softball are the bread and butter. All hail the mighty Baxter! Basketball is key as well. They just have a football team, but they won't put any effort into it. They see it as a waste of time and money.

We're in luck. I know a coach looking for a job. He's won 3 games this year against "COLLEGE TEAMS." Last name is Fulmer or something. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Unless they hire some good assistants for him ..i don't that he would do so well /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

He can bring Chavis with him. He can bring his whole staff. Think they will clean house down there in Knoxville. Don't think he will come to Unicoi though, no Krispy Kreme. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
