The common sense thing to do would be to have no home field advantage after the first round. Ohio uses a list of approved playoff hosting sites around the state that meet requirements for seating capacity, facilities, handicap accessible, fence between playing field and stands, adequate parking. After the first round, sites are chosen midway between the two schools to make travel as fair as possible. Both teams fans are treated to a great game at a great venue with plenty of seats (in most cases), and home field advantage is taken out of the playoffs.

I believe this would is the opposite of common sense. The regular season wouldnt mean near as much to the players and coaches if home field advantage is something not to strive for. Finishing 4th would be almost the same as finishing 1st in the region. Also, this is how school systems upgrade their facilities. Playoff games bring in too much money for school systems. Kinda hard to upgrade any facility to make people happy when you only play 5 home games in a year. Home field advantage is a big part of why football is football.
