central will be tough this year as well. they did lose 8 starters but they are returning somewhere between 18-23 upcoming seniors that all played as starters or got lots of playing time last year. this group of kids started high school football the same year coach derrick came back and that means alot...

thats good to hear i'm a polk fan and i love the rival central and polk have. i think both teams will have good teams this year and they both got tough games for the year. i'm liooking forward to the season and good luck to both teams.

Central should be strong again this year and Polk is always tough. Of course I am biased toward Sequoyah, but honestly, I think the Chiefs are closer to competing than some realize. Sweetwater still has quite a bit of talent returning, but we will have to wait and see what they do with a new coach when they get one. Meigs had a lot of issues to deal with last year, if they have worked through them they could return to their traditional toughness.

Good luck to all the teams and I, for one, will be pulling for all the district teams in non-district action.

I look forward to seeing the Chargers, week 9 in the land of the F5 Tornadoes. /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />

Hope the chargers can stay within 35 points. The folks in chargerland are excited about playing the best competition in the state. Hope everyone at Alcoa is healthy and having a great off-season. We'll see you all week 9 at your place. If tornado like conditions do occur it might benefit the chargers and slow down Alcoa's speed and size.

I dont think Central will be that tough and if HOWARD was in that region they would win again but now they are in a tough region and have to face teams like red bank but that should help us if we make the playoffs

You dont think central will be that tough lol. You beloved Howard is goin to get their eyes drilled in this year. What do you mean teams like red bank. Central scrimmaged them last year and handled them. But good luck to yall. To bad central doesnt get to play yall next year because you would be in our neighborhood.

GO CHARGERS!!!!!!!!!!

I think central will hold their ground if they can hold their composer and play to their full potential. Alcoa is a powerhouse in football and everyone knows the name. But Alcoa is just a name and tell your boys to remember that.

GO CHARGERS!!!!!!!!!

    • Wow I haven't been keeping up with softball had no idea.Been keeping up with baseball and we are slowly fading there.I will check it out!!Thx
    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
