Tonite in GAINESBORO Jessica Garland hit a shot 6 feet past center court line to win game for JACKSON CO. 63-60 against Station Camp at the buzzer. Then at half time of boys game she got shot from half court to win interest on a millon dollars sponcered by bank east eery home game and hit it. Congrats Jessica ;

With 2.2 secs. on the clock, score tied at 60, JCHS in-bounded the ball to J Garland as she crossed midcourt. The rest is in the books, she banked the shot from there as the buzzer sounded. Final; JCHS 63-S Camp 60.

I have to add. 21 Cheyenne North of S Camp gave JCHS fits in the paint.

It was exciting to see Garland's big 3 soar through the air and into the basket! I wish I couldve seen the 2nd one but I missed that one.

 

The station camp girls were fundamentally sound and well coached. They played a good game against our girls. #21 and #10 from station camp were both fun to watch. They all worked extremely hard on the defensive end of things. Laken Leonard was double-teamed most of the night, but still managed to get 28 while Emily Bowman had 13, I believe.

 

Our defense needs some work, the intensity will come Im sure because Coach Brown is known for having great defensive teams.

 

We all got our moneys worth in the boys game too. Our boys played their best game so far beating a good Station Camp team. Its easy to see why Jenkins will play for Vanderbilt. He had 38 points with 6 threes. JC stayed with him but he still managed to score. What a player! The Hensley boy and Robinson really worked hard tonight. Robinson had 18 and I believe Hensley was in double figures too. Keep up the good work JC boys and girls.

Game winning shot from past half court is something she will remember the rest of her life, congrats to her. Wish i could have been there to see it, maybe someone can post a clip on youtube and post a link on here?

You have to have a ticket to the game in order to be drawn for the shot, since she is a player she had no ticket. She must have been shooting for someone else. Coach Brown is too smart to let her lose her eligabilty, Im sure she wont accept the cash prize.
