Gordonsville @ Clay County

Well Clay County passed first test of year. But will have to play 4 strong quarters to hang with Crange!

Gordonsville starters played real sloppy in first few minutes and Coach Agee benched all of them for most of the 1st half! Clay starters didn't capitalize on playing against second string because of lack of rebounding and careless turnovers.

2nd half Clay County started pressing and ran away from the Tigerettes with multiple steals and easy layups.

Kayla Kimes got in foul trouble and Sydney Roach took over the point and showed us what's to come in the next few years. She played a great game and delivered assists and shot the ball well.

Red Boiling is next on Tuesday night in Macon County.

She should be MVP of her district by the time her senior year rolls around. She will be VERY valuable to the lady dawgs. Ogletree is a good player but i just havent seen enough out of her to even put her in the best freshman category i am sorry. roach is my #1 freshman right now.

i have seen roach and ogletree play and i am very impressed with their all around games. they can shoot, handle the ball, and play tight defense. who are some other freshman girls across the state that are making headlines?

    • Wouldn't the easiest move be to move McCall up to HS Principal and have Gulley take over as MS Principal?
    • Bounder, you are correct. And it is so easy today. As a civilian today, I can check my 6th grade grandson’s grades in real time. 46 years ago as a young head coach, I knew who were my weak students and would do a weekly check. A decade and 1/2 later as an administrator, I would ask guidance for attendance, and grade reports as I did my own discipline reports. 5 years later I could run all those reports in a few minutes. today Text one the Secretaries and they can create a red flag report only printing the names with D’s and F’s or attendance and discipline issues. You are not even dealing with a whole team. The only problem with modern technology is someone who might not want to know.
    • No I didn't,  I just know jellico lost a few and should in playoffs tho....but they have alot coming in the next few yrs
    • The buck stops with the head coach, he should have know if any of his players  were not making the required grades. Either he has someone checking weekly before games and reporting to him or he should do it himself.
