This tourney starts this morning at The Eagles Nest at Graves County High School in Mayfield, Ky....

Lone Oak is 3-6 and plays Covington who is 5-3 according to an incomplete CoachT schedule....Covington will be much more athletic than the Purple Flash..The Chargers are a run and gun type team that can really shoot the three...Covington should win this game....

University Heights at 2-5 will then face Allen County-Scottsville who come in with the tourney's best record at 10-1...Scotty Hopson won't be running out of that dressing room door this year for UH and they should lose to Allen County...

Obion Central at 7-3 will then take on the host school Graves County who also comes in at 7-3...OC hasn't played and really hasn't practiced much since their last game, a win over Union City...Usually the host school pairs their team up against someone they think should be an easy opponent...These two teams were in a few camps together this past summer and the Eagles coaching staff probably based their opinion on playing the Rebels first on that...OC didn't have leading scorer Nick Gilliam at all over the summer and played games without Jacob Mobbs and Brandon King quite a few times due to injuries to those players...Graves Co isn't nearly as good as one KY team the Rebels have faced already this year in Marshall County...OC is also dealing with the death of one of their players brothers as well..They actually went to a visitation this morning before they left for Mayfield...This might be the best game of the day..These two are evenly matched...

Heath at 3-5 will then take on Stone Memorial who comes in at 9-1...Stone seems to be a pretty good team but I'm not sold on their East Tn schedule....I'll see for myself later on tonite as they face the OC Rebels at 9:30 PM'ish......

University Heights-54

Lone Oak-61

Allen County-57

Graves County-46

Heath-42

Stone Memorial-63

Obion Central-60

Covington is the most talented and athletic team here....Don't know about the coaching but they should win this tournament.....

To be 10-1 coming in Allen County is very weak.....Heath beat Stone Memorial who was 9-1 coming in....

Obion Central blew two double digit leads in both games..They led the host Eagles midway thru the third qtr 44-31 and then just stopped scoring...GC went on a 19-3 run thru the end of the third and into the fourth...OC actually didn't score a single point in the 4th qtr until 1:17 left in the game..OC then led Stone 38-27 before finally seeing that whole lead evaporate when SM went ahead 53-52 late in the game...OC had two chances to tie with a three at the end but couldn't get a shot off....OC played without Brandon Smith in the second game and he wasn't able to go 100% in the first game although he played his butt off trying...Brady Boucher also went down with an ankle injury in the first game and was hampered with it the rest of the day...Nick Gilliam got poked in the eye to the point it was bleeding and played with a bandage on it for much of the second half of the second game and was hampered with it the rest of the game....

The Covington/Lone Oak and Covington/University Heights games were neither really as close as the score indicated....Covington had LO by 24 points and had UHA by 20 points and both times put the brakes on saw both teams shave a bunch of points off the final margin...

The Rebels are definately banged up heading into the final two days of this Holiday classic. The OC takes on Heath out of the west Paducah area in Kentucky this evening at 6pm. A healthy five will probably go at this point for the Rebs as no need in rushing anyone back with important district games coming up next week vs. D'burg and the "view" of Martin.

I'm impressed that some of the younger guys are coming up and taking advantage of the minutes they've been given to play with some of the regular guys out. Starting to see a little bit of depth being established /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

But make no mistakes and no excuses here- despite the injury bug, OC still should've won both of the games played on Saturday.. Had a couple of double digit leads in the 2nd half and let em slip away like a run away motorcycle /motorbike.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":motorbike:" border="0" alt="motorbike.gif" />

Maybe the worm will turn against the Heath Pirates /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> today..

i think fox had twenty five in the second game...if they win monday they in the ship...good luck guys

Good Luck winning against Graves.....It will be hard for anybody to beat them only because of the 8 on 5 factor....

Brandon Smith, not being 100% in this tourney has hurt the Rebs for sure.....For some reason just can't hold on to a lead.....Two games that they definitely should have won....Hopefully they will come out and win these last two.....It was nice to see a few of the Sophomores stepping up in the second game....Brady York, who hasn't played much all year, comes in and hits a big three at the end of the game...I think he ended up with 8.....I think a few of them have earned some extra PT this tourney.....

Good luck against Heath tonight!!

GO REBELS!!!

So, how did Stone Memorial look? Did they have any standouts?

Mediocre...Like the rest of the teams up here....

#15 Fox has some hops....They lost to a very mediocre Heath, KY team who was 2-5 entering the tourney...They should of gotten beat by a banged up Obion Central

team....

Covington is the most athletic team up here..They won this afternoon 78-71 beating Allen County-Scottsville......They will play in the championship game Tuesday night..

Obion Central beat Heath tonite 60-57...OC again led the majority of the game before losing the lead late in the game only to hit a couple of shots and come back and win....OC led every game they have played in this tourney heading into the 4th quarter..
