This one could be one for the ages. If memory serves correctly, Coach Thacker is a former player of Coach Phillips at Marion. I think the Pirates are too athletic for the Tigers. This game could be close for a little while, but I can see SP pulling away and winning by 30+ points.

The champ says this game will be a good game for the Pirates to break the new gym in. This game will be close at the tip, but Whitwell isn't very good. I say SP will beat them as bad as Coach P wants to. Good luck to both teams, but this one will be a BLOWOUT!!!!!!!!

I also think South Pittsburg will win this one big, but I wouldn't be surprised if Whitwell hung around until the half. Cole Tucker is a good ball player. Add the other big kid from Whitwell and they may be able to contain JaJuan for a little while. The difference in this game will be Terrell and Malcolm. They will dominate Whitwell's guards and lead SP to a huge win in their first game in the new gym...Good Luck SP!

The style of ball that South PItt is playing this year i just don't think whitwell has the athletes to keep up. BigJ i have been hearing that the big kid (not tucker) is done after the Marion game due to a football knee injury. Good luck to both teams in this big rivalry and enjoy being the first teams to play in that awesome new facility.

One for the ages? Whitwell needs to worry about getting their first win! Did he actually play? All that stuff is irrelevant SP will name the score

I hope this coach is adding more discipline to this new "gameplan".

We (a few of mine and Coach P's friends) scrimmaged these boys last week and they too are a new team. Positive the entire time, played smart, ran us to death and they were very effective. Once they work out some kinks, they will be exciting /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
    • That's a fair line. But if it's not over, that's a big problem.
    • RR, you think that changes this year, or at least improves? I know they had a couple of talented young receivers last year that made some plays later in the year. Defensive back was a struggle against any team that was above average at throwing the ball.
    • You would think they got a bunch of interest
    • You would think with football just three months away more would be talking. There's only so much a person can say about someone allowing the field to get painted without asking their boss who would have said ((((((((  ALE NO ))))))))) or all the other BULLS#!T they've done as they lead Maryville High into the new age of WOKE in a conversative town. I'm ready for some football news without hearing something coming out of 825 that Power Munger has done to cap off the week.
