Dyer county plays gibson county tuesday at dyer county....who yall got winning or stepping up and taking over the game.

Should be a great game Tuesday night, GC is very much improved under New Head Coach Michael Hart. Big win this past friday on the road for GC over Obion which puts them 2-0 in the district and 5 wins already on the young season. Hope for a good game between the 2 teams. I got to go with my guys GC by 3pts.

This should be a good game...heard alot of good stuff about GC's team although I have yet to see them play this year. DC..... as has been said brings alot of youth to the floor. The game against Crockett was over in the first few minutes...I looked at that as a great game for the younger players to get some top notch practice. GC has the big man in Masagna...not sure about spelling.....DC has Cedric Janes. Ced has shown improvements in the last games. CJ and Rex will be the experience on the floor. CJ is a playmaker.I don't do predictions /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> ...superstition deal with me.

Haaa!! What I am is a realistic fan /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> ....I know what DC has and doesn't have at the moment. Big Ced although a junior has basically had to be "re-coached"...he has improved and will be valuable as the season progresses. We have a freshman that starts and one coming off the bench that gets alot of minutes, a sophmore starting...least he did last game. DC HAS the talent in these players...what the players lack is experience which they are getting every game. Now Yarbrough although a freshman DOES NOT play like a freshman....also we have Cedarius Taylor who is being missed as he is having knee surgery..... freshman also. He is gonna be a GREAT player before all is said and done Collectively as a team they are improving every game...helps having CJ and Rex.

If Gibson County can handle the ball and not make sill turnovers against the press, they will come out victorious. DC half court defense is bad. If they can't get you to make dumb turnovers, they flat can not defend you. I know that's gonna outrage some of you choctaw faithful, but look at it objectively and you will see. They will get exposed when they play teams that have good guard play.

AS a Choctaw faithful, I am not outraged, but to say their half-court "D" is bad is simply incorrect. Maybe not the best in the region and not as good as Choctaws past, but definatly not bad. I`ll admit they could make some improvements. To begin with, DC is undefeated. You say they have tougher games ahead and that may be true, but they have faced a couple teams with guards as quick as any playing Ripley (twice) and Union City and DC came out victorious in all three. Try to convince those two teams there guard play is not good.

As far as experience goes, I venture to say DC has the most experienced young guys in the region. I`m not saying that makes them better, but experience does speak for itself. If you remember last year McCord had all these guys going in and out sharing time with the starters practically all game all season. There have been games this year they have had 5 freshmen on the floor in all 4 quarters.

BTW, the future is again looking bright as Northview is having another great season and I hear Three Oaks has a kid with alot of talent as well. They say this Hubbs kid from Northview is the real deal. For those of you that might know, Northview and Three Oaks are the feeder schools for DC.

I've seen them in practice more than once and I can assure you the coaches are aware of their weaknesses which they are taking steps to correct /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> . I don't get outraged when someone speaks objectively...I only get outraged when someone just gets on here to bash...I'm all for realistic talk. We have covered some of DC's weaknesses...youth, inexperience, guard play...what are some of GC's weak area's??????????

/thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> I can vouch for the Hubbs kid...he can flat out play....he is the real deal. VERY composed player. Northview is also well coached and will be able to transition into the high school with no major issue.

I hope Gibson County is much improved. The last time we played them it was a bashing, 104-50. Not trying to rub it in. I hope to see a great game. Alot can happen in a year with the right coach, just ask anyone from Dyer County. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

some of gc's weaknesses... hmmmm

sometime bad shot selection.... dribble drive defense... sometimes a lack of intensity however i doubt that will be a problem in a game of this magnitude... and free throw shooting lol that's a biggie... they lost 2 games that if they would have hit 15% more of their free throws they would of won both against ripley and henry co...

    • If y’all lose to Farragut something awful has happened.
    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
    • No sir. I watched it specifically and it was very dirty. He cleated the boy on purpose. Apparently, it’s an issue in football as well from what several schools have said. That said, looking forward to a good game 3. ER hit it well in game 2.
    • He is the transfer. 5star spoke on him in their new qb1 series. Didn’t list em as a transfer but I knew the name
