oakdale didn't play in any jamboree. oakdale also scrimmaged taft the week before. oakdale won that scrimmage, but i'm not sure of the score. just a word on the north green scrimmage, i don't think we didn't play to our full ability. it was hard to get pumped up after a three hour bus ride.

Sherm, just a quick note. One of the responsibilities of the coaching staff and team captains is to make sure those long... long... bus rides don't get the team down. In our state, most teams face those rides several times a year. From what I was told, Oakdale played hard during that scrimmage, so no disrespect was intended, just reporting the facts as related to me. Good luck and have a good year.

Oakdale's staff this season consists of Head Coach Benny Collins---a former Eagle All-State lineman---, assistant William Childers from Grundy Co., assistant Michael Gilbert,

and assistant Rick Colston.

As you probably know, former head coach Travis Tapp has gone to Harriman as offensive coordinator, and former assistant John Daugherty has gone to Rockwood as an assistant.

i just wanted you to know that there was no disrespect taken. i appreciate your words of advice though. this being the first game, i don't think that the bus ride is goin to keep us from getting pumped for the game. we've worked hard and everyone is ready to see some of the hard work pay off.

    • Yes in the regular season. But once Westview's young kids got the experience from the season, they only lost to Dyersburg by a field goal in the playoffs. Westview was young last year. They will be tough this year
    • That is absolutely not the truth.  Few if any college coaches or school administrators want to be in the middle of legal proceedings if there is any way possible to avoid being caught in the middle.  With that being said I have two questions: 1.  Why would a coach remove any player from the team for using the F WORD?  Yes, I fully understand the player must be held accountable for her actions.  Maybe extra running and even a one game suspension but if every kid or coach that used improper language was kicked on the team or fired, they would have no players or coaches available to play the games. 2.  If there was truly another player or coach that witnessed this situation, and they agree with the player then by all means the coach should be held accountable for their actions.
    • 1st round exit?        For real ?!?!?!                     Oh wait.....    are we talking band or football?
    • Assistant football staff still the same? Any replacement for Brian Beaubien? Who will be the DC? Will there be anything going on this spring with football? I go watch practice often.
