I can't find any metro people on here talking about the league. What gives? Does anyone actually go to these games? What do you guys out there in CoachT land think?

I am perusing thru the board and see nothing. Haven't been to many games, but would like to know what is going on.

12AAA has been interesting this year.

Maplewood is still the favorite with HL running a close 2nd and then flip a coin between Stratford, McG, Antioch and Glencliff.

 

Should be a good district tournament.

Maplewood is definitely the frontrunner based on the number of talented players in the starting line-up and coaching. They lack discipline at times but if they get it going they will be tough to beat. Hunters Lane running a close second. They are a very discipline team that has good guard play and a big kid inside that can play as well. They are also very well coached. However you can't count out Glencliff, which is by far the MOST IMPROVED team in the district this year. Glencliff played Maplewood very close at home and beat Hunters Lane. The coaching staff at Glencliff have those guys playing defense this year and at a tempo that does not favor most of the teams they play in the district. They also have a player (Deontae Alexander) that can put up 30 plus points on any given night which is always a plus. The District Tourney should be very interesting this year.

This is a down year for basketball all over town, but it is easily the worst basketball 12AAA has ever seen. I know I have followed it since 1979-80 and it has never been this bad.

The private schools are really taking a toll on 12-AAA pool of talent.

Glencliff and Stratford finished tied for 3rd in the district regular season. Stratford won the coin flip so Stratford is 3rd and Glenclif is 4th in the tournament. Glencliff fell short of fininishing 2nd in the district when they lost to HL in overtime by 1pt at Hunters Lane.
