Who should get the honors? All District, All Defense, All Freshman, MVP, Coach of Year, and Freshman of the Year. If I left something out include it. Just wondering on all opinions.

MVP = Dunn (LA) (If other coaches don't vote him as the 4th or 5th best)

 

Coach of The Year = Melton (LA) (Deserves it, probably won't get it)

 

I don't really know enough of the names to list much else.

 

All District should include: Nash (UH), Baxter (UH), TJ Smith (LA),

 

All Defensive team should include: Peterman (LA), West (LA)

 

All Freshmen team should include: hard to say... My guy was a sophmore.. lol

i only seen dunn play 4 games this yr and i did not see mvp material. maybe just caught him on a off night.

You obviously haven't watched much basketball at all.--It's not my intention to take anything away from any of the young men in the district-----But----IMO, If you followed this district all season, and know anything about basketball----Dunn would have to be the obvious choice for MVP. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

It would not surprise me to see Dunn and Nash as co-mvps.

If your refering to Kailen Melton he's a sophmore. West should get defense. Dakota Key should've got it if he wouldnt of gotten hurt.

How do they go about choosing these teams? Do they look at stats or is it simply a popularity deal.

I would think you should look only at the 12 distric games each team played to choose these awards.

If your refering to Kailen Melton he's a sophmore. West should get defense. Dakota Key should've got it if he wouldnt of gotten hurt.

 

 

My bad, You are right about that. I'll fix it. He is pretty good for a sophmore though isn't he...

Shouldn't be no guessing about it. It's definitely in district play only. Hence "ALL DISTRICT".

 

If I was guessing /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blink:" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> most of the awards would go to the Cats and Bees. Players and coaches. But Macon Co's coach I would think should get some votes as well.

 

Of course it should come down to Melton or McWilliams. And either one is more than worthy IMO.

You're right it will come down to Melton or McWilliams but make no mistake about it Macon's coach is very deserving. He is always coaching down to the last second no matter what the score or what players are on the floor. I like his style and his xxx and ooo. The question was asked if it was a surprise that Macon finished 3rd in the district and I believe coach is the answer to that.

 

All awards are picked by the coaches. Numbers can be a little deceiving sometimes but when you have to prepare and play against the players throughout the year it gives you a better idea of who is deserving of the awards. JMO
