I still can't believe they did it. But I don't believe Denton or any of these UH players now would do anything like that. Up until Woodacre got there, UH and Tony Gordon liked to keep around a different type of student athlete...

Tony Gordon was not the coach and it wasn't the players that walked in wearing raincoats. It was 3 or 4 boys who came to watch the game. The players were horrified that incident occured! Some of those players volunteered their time after the flood through a local church.

all coach gordon did was drive his players to represent their school with class. His kids had nothing to do with what happened at hampton in the late 90's. As for now UH is benefitting form a region that is probably the weakest in the state. the teams that are advancing so deep in the playoffs now wouldn't have gotten out of the district 3-5 years ago. however, the UH program is still showing alot of class and representing 1A in a positive way. Also major props to Ned Smith and Cloudland. He is a budding star as a coach. Many schools would do well to hire him. He is a class act and a great coach

    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
    • If y’all lose to Farragut something awful has happened.
    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
