Gotta say I agree. I think that CPA/Bolivar is a toss-up. CPA's coaching is some of the best in the state, so they will be prepared. I am going to take a chance, and say Upperman beats McMinn. It is a close one, but I think Upperman may have the edge.

I was leaning towards Upperman as well. I think Bolivar's athleticism and quickness might be too much for CPA this year (plus a 3+ hour busride will not help things). CPA will need a strong game from their post players (Mitchell especially because of her versatility) and their point guard, if they are to have any chance.

Ok, just a thought. Did Upperman not travel to MCentral last year? I think that MCentral handled them with relatively ease. Not saying that Upperman is not good, no disrespect at all. However, McMinn Central is the very same team as last year with a sophmore that has stepped up to add to the punch. I am wondering, does Upperman have the same team as last year? And when I say the same team, I mean MC had absolutely no seniors in the line-up last year. Just something to ponder as I see so many wanting to go with Upperman. I have no clue on the outcome, just a few questions and observations.

No, Upperman did not travel to McMinn last year. The lady Bees played at home against Sequatchie and won. We lost 2nd round in State to Milan.

We also bring the same team with no starting senior in the line up last year.

Should be a great game /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

Last years sub-state game at Central was with York. Mcminn Central returned all players and then some from last year. Keep in mind that Central has played only two games within 10 points all year and no-one has beaten them yet, with that and the home court advantage they will be hard to beat. If Upperman does beat them they will win state.

Thank you for the correction, I am getting older and the brain does not work as well as it used too. Well, should be a good game, unfortantly it sounds like 1 of the 2 better teams in the state is going to go home.

How deep do the bees go? MC can put a whole new team in and not loose a thing.

Solid 7-8 deep but play hard (up and down the floor) for 32 minutes.. This should be the biggest game in the state Saturday. If LA wasn't playing, the round house is where I would be!

I was there last year at sub state and Central wore York out.. I look for this to be a much closer game and I will make no predictions other than this will bad as a potential state winner doesn't get an oppurtunity to further their season! Good luck to both and safe travels for the Lady Bee faithful!

I also wonder if Davis and Lambert will match up? Or will Jordan be on Davis? What about it thug dadi? What do you think?

I think that the "little thug" will start out, but I think that by the forth quarter Caitlyn Casteel will probably be guarding her.

I dont think it will be that easy.. Some people may be shocked Saturday at the round house. Im pullin for the Chargerettes but its not going to be so easy!

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
