jw73
Harpeth played their butts off tonight. In a great high school basketball environment, they took it right to Lipscomb and had the momentum going into the last 2 minutes of the game. To Lipscomb's credit, they did what they had to do. Harpeth left it on the floor and could smell state, but it was not to be. Lipscomb got the game to OT and won it 75-68. I can't describe how proud I am of this Harpeth team. In the talent area, this years version wouldn't rank as high as probably the last 4 or 5 teams. They made up for it in heart and desire, team chemistry and awesome senior leadership. It was everything that high school basketball should be. Thank you Indians. Those of you who came out tonight saw a GREAT high school basketball game! That is what the Sub-State/Sectional game is supposed to be about. 2 teams playing every possession like it was their last. It was a well played game, hard fought and a GREAT atmosphere from both crowds to top it off. Hats off to Lipscomb, who made the plays down the stretch to win. To Harpeth, Congratulations on a well played game and a great season; use this as a stepping stone for the future.
cpaballfan
Of course I am a CPA fan.....but still need my basketball fix! So I was at this game. Lipscomb should have dominated, but they did not....until the end....which they do best! I have to say again their backseat players are their players....if it were not for #2 the redhead kid, #23, and the Bell kid Lipscomb would not being going to State! I have to be honest and say that I really didn't want Lipscomb to win, but they really deserve to be where they are and I commend them! That was hard to say! Go 9AA! mcfan10
Lipscomb knows how to fight and pull out these tough games. It seems like the team just has that will to win and gets it done.
