This is for all of the Humbolt fans---what are you going to do if you win the Manassas game and then don't win it all? It has been known to happen that the best team does not win the title. One year I can recall with vivid memory was the year Goodpasture dropped down to single A in the 90's with the team that featured Ron Mercer and Drew Maddux. I recall telling everyone that they would win the regional final against BGA but they wouldnt win the tourney. Guess what? Even though Goodpasture was the best team in the state bar none, they beat BGA by 20 in the regional final but then met them in the state finals and BGA beat them. The best team doesn't always win. I could see them being beaten by Grace in the semis or even Summertown in the finals if they make it that far. they have faced much more athletic teams than them (Culleoka who was #2) and won. When you get a good defensive team, anything can happen. All they have to do is keep it close and have a shot at the end and your dreams are crushed.

Grace Baptist could very well give Humboldt or Manassas problems...The 6'9 guy would give any team problems...However, according to everything I've been told and even some things I've read, they seem to be a team that likes to run and gun...A player was quoted in the paper recently saying that they try to turn every game into a track meet...If Grace Baptist wants to beat either of these teams, that aint the way to do it...If Grace tries to do that against Manassas or Humboldt, they'll get run out of the gym...

As far as Summertown goes, Manassas and Humboldt are in another stratosphere compared to Culleoka as far as athleticism is concerned...

I will agree with you on one thing...The best team does not always win...You have upsets all the time in all sports at all levels...I just believe that the gap between the elite (Humboldt and Manassas) and the rest of the field is pretty large...Maybe I'll be proven wrong this week...Only time will tell..

What's going on Tuesday?

Maybe a tailgate party of something. Have to see how many will come up early.

I'll guarantee you Humboldt will be well represented on Wed. We've been hoping for this return to the 'boro all season and we'll not let our team down now. As for Manassas....don't know. They weren't well represented last year on Sat. at all I didn't think. This Wed. may be different.

How would Humboldt's people know you'll were at home remember?

So putting the top 3 teams in A on one side of the bracket is "fair"??Temple sleepwalking into the finals is "fair"??

Seeding based on performance would be "fair"...Make teams earn their placement in the tourney...It really just makes the most sense..

Even if Humboldt was in Temple's position, I'd still have a big problem with it...Manassas and Grace are getting a raw deal here too...

Same thing happened this week in the girls Class A where the top 3 teams (Clarkrange,Forrest and Oliver Springs) were on one side of the bracket while a very weak team (out of the west) Madison Aca was on the other side and got a silver ball in a lopsided, very boring game. The two best teams in Class A (Clarkrange and Forrest) played a great game on Wednesday and in that game the best team in Class A rose to the top and won and went on to win the state championship. The blind draw did not affect the outcome as to who the best team in the state was but did affect who came in second and to me that's what most of you people from west tn are concerned about. Make no mistake about it the best TEAM will win the championship and who cares who comes in second! I'm not so sure either of these two teams will beat Grace Baptist or Temple but they will both have a chance to play for a state championship and that's all you can ask for. So quit whining and let's play ball!

The girls thing with Madison Academic wasn't right either..... Madison should have had a tougher road and I am from Jackson.

That is exactly it...Why should the 4th or 5th best team in the state walk away with a silver ball. Who cares? We care. The 2 best teams should walk away with something. Do you ever watch the college ncaa tournaments? It seems to work out pretty well. Maybe you don't care because you are a fan of one of the weaker teams.
