A North parent told my friend that the rumor at North is Sensabaugh is transfering to North next year.Maybe his parents think he has a better chance of going to the playoffs over there. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

There are many rumor's floating around over at the North Pole. Most can't be repeated on this board. This one can't be true though. North is where players from DB transfer to when their not good enough to play at DB. I think everybody know's Chris is good enough, and then some.

There is nothing we would like better, but we are young and have a lot of big questions to be answered.I would take getting to the first round and improving as the year goes, right now.One step at a time this year.Had all the players from our last class been on board,I thought we could have made a deep run in 2008,but those guys in the other part of the state would have been a big challenge in the last two games.

I remember a Tennessee team back in 98' that didnt have high expectations and look what that team accomplished!

Well, from what I've been told,we lost one of our defensive players this week.It wasn't to another school, but just tired of playing. It was going to be interesting as to where the coaches put everyone allready. This will not help out defensive backfield.Don't get me wrong,we have some fine athletes at DB,but not a lot of senior leaders and depth at some key places

how was the first day of spring practice for the tribe?

i know they were missing quite a few people but just wondering how it was going

Talked to D.Slyvester at the baseball media signing Thurs. said he had quit football. He is a good athlete.

Funny how at the signing there was only 1 football player signing.I guess going 10-0 and 1-done is not

getting many players looks from schools.A.Adams was the only div.1 player going to Austin Peay. Looking

back at the last 4yrs. and the players that DB has had in football and the teams,we should have been to the

state a couple of times IMO.

I'm no college scout or much of a coach but Justin Sylvester and Jamie Crawford both have the talent and work ethic to play college football. I don't think Justin is injury prone but it just seems that way from this season with that nagging ankle he had to deal with. But when those two were on they were on. They both could throw, run, catch, play D, they could do it all. I remember when, in '06, in the first Q against South at J Fred, Justin threw it long to Coty. That may have been against THS in the Castle it's been too long to be exact. But I remember the pass and it was nice...and it was a TD. Would like to have seen those two play more. My son was hoping to end up at a college with them. Oh well. Anyway, best of luck to this years Seniors.

Yea I will miss them days Comp. We are leaving DB and DB football with a bad taste in our mouth's after the awards were given out on Sunday. 5/3/09 I doubt that I will ever step back in J.Fred to watch another football game.I will tell you about it sometime.Good luck to Taylor, we will keep up with him. Congrats on the ETSU baseball scholly! ETSU is a great acedemic school. #15 would have loved to have been able to play football there. Everything else he needed was there...just no football.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
