oaklandpats
Oakland's whole team is very young, believe there is 2 seniors that has been there since Freshman. They will be the team in the future. As for other teams I believe Siegel has some young talent to come too.
Futbol101
Blackman has a very young team, has a strong sophmore class that will continue the winning tradition at Blackman. They have good young talent at sweeper & forward, I see those boys anchoring the team for the future.

oaklandpats
Riverdale plays at Oakland tonight at 7 should be a good game the way Oakland is playing lately. oaklandpats
From the DNJ.. The Oakland boys soccer team will donate the gate receipts from tonight's home game with city rival Riverdale to families who were effected by the Good Friday tornadoes.Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. The money raised won't bring back any homes destroyed. But it will go a long way in showing those in the Murfreesboro area that although that the games have resumed, the thoughts and prayers are still with those that lost their homes in the tornadoes. Oakland first-year soccer coach Jeff Boynton came up with the idea. He spent the majority of the weekend with one of his players, whose home was destroyed by the tornado. Boynton showed up at Oakland senior Justin Henderson's home Friday afternoon to lend his support to the family. "He came over here and put himself in danger to help us," said Tammy Henderson, Justin's mother. "It's dangerous over there. "He showed up in our front yard and was just willing to work. That's valuable in our eyes and important to my son's eyes to know that he cares about you." The Hendersons were at home when the tornado struck. They were sitting in a bath tub when their house was lifted and placed on their car about 15 feet away. Oakland canceled its soccer game with Smyrna scheduled for Saturday, allowing Boynton, his team and players' parents to go to the Henderson's home. There they volunteered their help. "They helped us a lot," Henderson said. "You want to just get what you need and get out. But they helped make sure we got all of our valuables out." Now, the team will attempt to go one step farther. It will attempt to help other families like the Hendersons. Maybe this will catch on. Sure, thousands of dollars won't be raised at any single athletic event. But perhaps this is a way that all of the county's athletic programs can step up to the challenge. What would happen if every athletic team in the county gave gate receipts from one game to those that lost their homes because of the tornadoes? Would it bring a home back? No. But it would go a long way in helping families cope with various expenses. It could help feed a few families, or maybe allow a family to go purchase an extra shirt or pair of shoes ??” something they may not currently have. And perhaps more important, it shows the Murfreesboro community that athletic teams care about those involved in the disaster. Sure, not every team had an athlete directly affected. But it's a safe bet that everyone knows someone that lost a home or had home damage.

RIVDALESOCCRDAD
0-5? what happened? Oakland came out strong and were very aggressive to the ball. Then it was like someone flipped a switch. They started giving space and retreating instead of attacking in the last 15 minutes of the first half. Riverdale scored 4 goals in the last 10 minutes of the half. Second half was more possession for Riverdale and lots of chances that were not finished. This score could have been much worse. The last goal came with less than a minute to play. Oakland raised over $800 for the storm victims last night. A very generous deed. Riverdale will follow suit and do the same on Thursday night. arsenal4
Did all of the Murfreesboro high school teams have players affected by the storms?
RIVDALESOCCRDAD
Did all of the Murfreesboro high school teams have players affected by the storms? I heard there was an Oakland player that lost his house. I would assume from the path of the storm that there were Blackman and Siegel players affected. I do not know of any personally. I do not think that Riverdale had any affected players.
