Metro football is terrible, and I am glad they are all in the same district. You that champion the coaches ask around and see how many go to clinics and visit other programs to keep current or learn new techniques to help the players be successful. You will find very very few .

All the ones I know of do both of those. Maybe you should ask around.

I guess you missed the ***whooping Hillsboro put on Beech, Mt. Juliet, Henry County and Maryville last year..

Until school administrators understand having coaches in the building aids the educational process, metro will be behind the midstate schools in athlectics. Head coaches are handicapped [ but do outstanding work ] by not having assistant coaches in the building.

If you are who I think you are I saw where ya'll have an opening at East. Anyone in particular that ya'll are looking to get such as positions and teaching positions? Just curious.

Coach Spears has talked to a couple guys, but does not have the green light to offer. He has no football assistants teaching at East Lit. and needs at least one. Principal seems to be trying to help but running into roadblocks at the central office. All there are in save my job mode.

Good luck to you and your former pupil at East Lit. I know you two will have them coached up. Just heard that a good friend of yours is now coaching at your old school HL; How will the warriors do with your old buddy over there?? Are'nt you 2 getting a little old for this type work (LOL); just kidding /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Who is the oldest? another (LOL).

I got to pull for the old geezers since we will not have to play either one of you.

      From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated

      Plenty of time. The former coach was busy with family and disappeared all summer anyway. Obvious choice has the same family issues. First game is in March 2025.
