Game 1 between #4 Sequatchie County and #5 South Pittsburg ended with a 6-3 win for the Indians. South Pittsburg out hit the Indians but walks and hit batsmen by the Pirate pitching staff proved costly. Game 2 of the night went to #3 Marion County as Austin Layne threw a 1 hitter and struck out 15. Cagle threw the final 5 innings for #2 Bledsoe picking up 14 K's and allowing no hits. Marion pushed the winning run across in the top of the 7th on an walk, stolen base, error by the catcher, and an error by the 2nd baseman, all with 2 outs. Final score Marion 3 Bledsoe 2.

Todays 1st game will pair Sequatchie County against #1 seed Grundy County @ 4:30. The late game will be an elimination game between South Pittsburg and Bledsoe County @ 6:30. All games are being played at Grundy County High School.

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
