Our youth showed up in this game also. In a good way. We didn't play our best ball, but we played good enough to advance. Josh Cloyd pitched a strong 5 innings and Josh Wilson came in to close it out. Lookout Valley stroked several out, but our pitchers kept their composure. We're going to Mrfreesboro. Cody Matthews stroked one out and Trent McCormick hit a 2 run homer in a clutch situation. Congrats to Coach Looper and the Wildcats.

These young men came determined to play and to win. I am glad to see them get the shot they deserve. Go Wildcats! /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

    • What’s sad Barney is the cards in the deck are stacked against them.  With the success the MAVS are having just down I-75, any talented players are heading that way. I always said what the Price twins did there was second to none, making the playoffs and winning a playoff game is the ceiling there. On a great year, maybe a q-final appearance but that is a big stretch.  Finding a coach there is very tough. I feel for the new coach, he’s in a very bad situation and I’m not sure he even realizes it. I understand he wants to be positive and have hope, but I don’t see them scratching a win. Maybe he will prove me wrong.
    • I agree, 2A is the only class in thet state where the west side of the bracket is tougher, not taking anything away from Marion county at all but they should run that side for years to come
    • Should be a big week in Dayton coming up with the 100th anniversary of the Scopes Monkey Trial.
    • AE has a lot of new transfers and a very good incoming freshman class to mess with the current players.  That's why I'm saying don't sleep on AE.  Many are thinking they can't get back to their winning ways but I think this 2025 team will open a lot of eyes and let the state know, AE won't be an easy win anymore.
