Here is mine!! PLs add your predictions, if you see it different.

Observations from the spring practice as well as from the previous season:

Offense:: Sells Tickets

QB--1. THe Saint (honorble mention) and Heath Haden getting valuable playing time.

RB--1.Bobby and 2. Cassell (or is it Castle) when in a double RB set.

After that (Brenton Hubbard, Weslie Williams, and others) have a chance to step up and take it.

Center- Nick Solt--future all-conf/future All-NET

Guards---Ryan Fuller (1st All-Conf) and ?????--Who will step up??________________________________

Tackles---Sam-Bam Conaway (Honorable Mention)and Zach Erwin (if anyone has returned after that injury, he will).

Tight End- 1.Ty Garvin 2. Clint Phllips (J.C. Garvin waiting in the wings)

WR -- Z-man Ashton Zononi (should have made at least 2nd team all-conf), Seth Waterson (Honorable Mention) ,

Taylor Rowland, and here's another chance for you to fill in the blanks_____________________,

Junior Cody Shipley, or Soph Paul Wagner??????? AHHHH-what about Heath Haden?????? That'll work.

DEFENSE::::: Wins games

Def. Line-----Dillon Hammonds (Honorable Mention), Jake Logue (1st All Conf), Taylor Mcglothlin, Jay Conkin

LBs-------Ty Garvin (Def. Player of the Year), Clint Phillips (1st All Conf), Caleb Anderson (Honorable Mention).

John Griggs, Ethan Long, Hubbard, J.C. Garvin, Jason Johnson fighting for an open spot---lots of debth

at this position.

DB and Sfties: Zanoni (1st All Conf), Heath Haden, Taylor Rowland, Seth Waterson, with Cody Shipley working hard

for a spot. Austin Riddell has the speed, needs to "promote" himself.

Many alluded to Heath being a WR in past threads. I disagreed with the rationale that he needed to be "overly protected". I still don't see him in the secondary but according to the Horse he is catching with more aplomb than the Z. I haven't seen it but it has been said. So, fact is he will be a parttime WR. More importantly, we have a new kicker. And from what I understand a world beater. That would be (Adam?) Fenyves. A soccer player of course. And since we have a fairly decent soccer team (and coach) he looks to be a go getter. A Soph no less. I understand he is putting them in the endzone or a regular basis. My son says he can kick the Shlitz out of it. He is currently doing the morning workout with the Rebels in addition to his other summer workouts hence his knowledge. So for those wondering about the kicking game it looks to have been made a priority. Short game field position for the opponent in '08 was a sore spot that might just be over. With fleet footed return specialists at Bristol, JC, and Kingsport it is good news none too soon. Not aware of the punting situation yet. Also, it seems Heath may get more and sooner reps at QB than previously anticipated. No hack on the Saint just a good utilyization of the bench which from viewing the spring drills is ready. And bit by bit it comes together. All eyes being on the passing game.

You don't see Haden in the Secondary---------Comp, think about it----who do you see that can play DB or Safety?

Z-man, for sure, probably Rowland, but with Ellis vacated to Florida---who are the players that are both speedy enough and physical enough to play in the Def.Secondary?????????? Name me the 2 that's you think are best equipped, speed-wise, Physical enough, and smart enough--and mean enough (all 4 qualities)??????

Also, I sorry to hear that Ryan Headrick is not playing freshman football!!!!

Groomes---that's a viable option right there. Wagner, has the speed and showed some hostility in the spring. Hutchins, as well, maybe not as fast, but an athlete who, when he makes up his mind to hit somebody, will be an asset. Maybe not this year, but I think it will happen.

Ryan Headrick just graduated from CHMS and is a rising Freshman, I'm sure, unless I have premature dementia, along with the class that has Mitchell Crowe, Blake St.Clair, Chuck Moore, Cubby Culbertson, etc. I think he has opted out of football to play Basketball and Baseball---------don't ask me.

Comp, you have a legit answer about the DB/safety question, yet??? I know you are thinking about it!

It's CASSELL...did you forget about Drew Shanks at wideout and at db,I thought Drew looked to be one of the best recievers in spring practice...I was told that Weston might work Cassell in at Saftey some when practice resumes.I think JJ has a way to go before he starts pushing for playing time...JC I can see playing some,he made some big hits in the spring ...but there was times he was lost in the dust.I wish them all the best.

Well, I don't think we will find someone with all the qualities. I mean Charlie was not a superstar his Soph year. He was good enough to be a work in progress though and of course by his Senior year was a top notch corner. The one thing Charlie had from the beginning though was the killer instinct. Heath may have that but I just am concerned about his fragility. I mean we have been fortunate to have linebackers for QB's and the Saint is no different but worst comes to worst I want Heath healthy. That said, of the Soph's I like Paul. He is smart, fast, has agility and can smell the ball. He is instinctive and is dying for a chance. Yes, he lacks killer instinct but I think he will learn quick. Cody is probably the logical choice. He is an athlete. My gut tells me Riddle will be the one. He will be a compromise but I believe Cody is too short. Z and Rowland are givens. AJ? I can't say. I hear Drew Shanks is an athlete waiting on a position. Word is he will play somewhere. But personally I like Ryan Lockhart. Somebody please convince this kid to play football. Talk about killer instinct. He would be a lockdown corner. #1 will be the FS and he could probably play corner just as well so that leaves one spot to be filled.

I have never seen the Headrick kid play but Volman says he is top shelf. Surely someone can talk to the Dad. Volman that sounds like your job.

    • Why did the coach get rehired after she was let go as an assistant by the former Warren County coach and the current AD?? Is that accurate?? I am very familiar with situations like this. Suprised lawsuits haven't happend before. If the coach unfairly let the player go, I think she has a shot because it cost her a scholarship. No college is going to offer a scholarship to a player that is kicked off of the team. Not going to happen. There are bad hires like this a bunch and kids are treated unfairly by coaches that can't coach a lick and have super long ropes somehow. Amazing how some of these coaches get hired and keep their job.
    • I am going to assume you are not a lawyer, and most reasonable lawyers would not say the lawsuit has a zero percent chance in court. I agree with you that a coach has the ability to dismiss anyone from a team. However, Ms. Winfree was never presented with the opportunity to present her witnesses and have them tell the coaches and administrators what they heard. A lawyer could better explain the lawsuit and the grounds to you. Before you start making wild assumptions about the lawsuit, would it be too much to ask that you do a little legal research first? The lawsuit is dealing with due process, loss of property, and defamation.   You can read the lawsuit here: https://bdnewsletter.files.wordpress.com/2024/04/doc-1-complaint-filed-4-18-2024.pdf
    • The administration took the path of backing the coach and whispering to people that the kid was a problem. The reality is that the kid was never a problem on a team or classroom. The player says she has witnessed who back her not saying the f-word.  Why did the coach make that story up and other stories? I am not Sigmund Freud and do not have an answer for the ex=-coach's behavior..
    • I think they have they coach they want close to being done. I guess we will all see how this plays out. I hope the hire a good one. There are some players in the box for the next coach to work with.
    • Going to grundle Troy Fleming?
