I thought the law was passed that they(players) had to play at their local zoned public school. Or was that just an option?

I've slept around since then. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

You sure this is stated correctly? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

I don't believe the law passed allowing homeschool children to participate in sports for their local school.

If passed the law would allow kids to play for ther local school not make them play for their local school. The Middle Tennessee Fire and other homeschool teams could still have their team.

Having been part of the Fire, I am biased, but it is a shame there is not a way for the Fire to participate in the post season.

No, I don't believe the law passed. They may have a compromise, or whatever you call it, where the homeschool kids in the knoxville(i think it's knoxville) area can play for their zoned school team.

Why Knoxville and not the other areas of the state. Is it something between the local school board and the home schoolers? Hey, Is that fair to the other school districts that don't allow home schoolers on their school teams? /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

I don't think any area could choose to do this while others couldn't. TSSAA would not leave it up to each area of the state. They enjoy their blanket rules for everyone that often don't make sense.

Your sooo right. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> ....What was I thinking.

    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
