Indian
Saturday scores from Free Press: Gold bracket (teams in the top 2 of their Friday pool games) Baylor 5, Rhea 2 William Blount 5, Ezell-Harding 1 Creekwood 4, Maryville 1 GPS 4, Bloomdale Ohio Elmwood 0 Soddy-Daisy 7, Bledsoe 0 Chattanooga Central 2, Ooltewah 1 Seymour 1, Baylor 0 William Blount 7, Creekwood 6 Soddy-Daisy 12, GPS 0 Chattanooga Central 6, Brentwood 1 William Blount 8, Seymour 3 Soddy-Daisy 2, Chattanooga Central 0 Final: Soddy-Daisy 8, William Blount 0 Silver Bracket: Meigs County 11, Polk County 2 Columbia 2, Marion 0 Midway 15, Red Bank 4 Chattanooga Grace 5, Happy Valley 0 Sequatchie 4, Morristown West 1 Meigs 11, Stone 7 Columbia 1, Cleveland 0 Grace 3, Midway 2 Sequatchie 3, Bradley Central 1 Meigs 10, Columbia 6 Sequatchie 5, Grace Academy 3 Final: Sequatchie 9, Meigs 8 Friday games: Soddy-Daisy 3, Grace 2 GPS 12 Rhea 2 Ooltewah 4 Sequatchie 1 Soddy-Daisy 10 Seymour 0 Midway 8 Polk 2 Baylor 10 Bradley Central 0 Chattanooga Central 10 Stone 0 Soddy-Daisy 11 Marion 1 GPS 13 Midway 0 Seymour 3 Sequatchie 0 Ooltewah 5 Morristown West 2 GPS 9 Polk County 6 Central 11 Morristown West 1 Rhea County 8 Polk County 3 Soddy-Daisy 10 Ezell-Harding 0 Rhea County 6 Midway 5 Central 3 Creekwood 2 Bloomdale Elmwood 12 Red Bank 2 Maryville 4 Sequatchie 0 William Blount 6 Columbia Central 0 Ezell-Harding 2 Marion County 1 Maryville 10 Happy Valley 0 Bledsoe 8 Cleveland 3 Creekwood 11 Morristown West 2 Brentwood 3 Meigs 1 William Blount 3 Red Bank 1 Bradley 5 Meigs 3 Brentwood 3 Baylor 1 Columbia 2 Elmwood 0 Ezell-Harding 5 Grace 2 Creekwood 3 Stone 1 Maryville 8 Cleveland 0 Bledsoe 7 Happy Valley 0 Columbia 8 Red Bank 6 Seymour 3 Ooltewah 2 Elmwood 5 William Blount 4 Maryville was leading Bledsoe early by a couple of runs late Friday, I don't know how that one ended. Baylor beat Meigs late Friday, I think 6-3 but not positive. Other than winning it in the Silver group, I'm also just proud Sequatchie has gotten 18 games in so far. Last year I don't think they reached 20 games until the district tournament due to the rainouts and cancellations. The Friday schedule was tough: Ooltewah, Maryville and Seymour who beat Ooltewah Friday and Baylor Saturday, their top pitcher was tough and their #4 batter could punish the ball. The defense, as was mentioned in the Sunday paper, just wasn't there Friday, 11 errors in 3 games, I don't think they'd had that many in their previous 11 games to start the season and mostly it was just routine plays flubbed. One earned run allowed vs Oolt (Dawson pitching), zero vs Seymour (Houk pitching). The #3 and #4 pitchers faced Maryville and didn't do a bad job considering the opponent. It was good they saw some time as they'll be out there full-time next year. Hitting wasn't bad against Ooltewah (10 left on base) and Seymour, even with just 1 run scored. Maryville held them down, only singles by senior Burgess and freshman Carlton. I saw parts of or full games that were fun to watch, including Rhea-Midway, Ooltewah-Seymour, Baylor-Meigs, those teams really got after it and the fans were into it, too. Yes. Did they make you get that utility pole off the fence yourself?
